Why are illegal immigrants set free in the UK?

Why are illegal immigrants set free in the UK?

I've just been watching UK Border Force on Sky2.

Immigration officers raided a farm building and found 17 out of the 20 people working there were illegal, but as some of them "couldn't find" their passports they were let go. They were asked to sign daily at their nearest police station until travel documents could be arranged...but surprise surprise 15 of them absconded, never to be seen again.

Is it just me, or is there a really obvious way to improve the department's efficiency by 750%?

If finance is the only issue, I know where there's £90 million that would be far better spent.

in my view they should be kept in detention until all there relevant passports and paperwork are found, then deport them.

Its pretty obvious they're gonna do a runner, whats the point in finding them then having to do it all over again.

It's a sad state of affairs where we can't detain them because there is nowhere to hold them. The prisons are full and detention centres were thought a bad idea so there is no option than to let them go again.

I suggest we set up an illegal immigrant centre in, say, the western Isles of Scotland, St. Kilda's unoccupied incidentally. Give them a tent, rations and, when they decide they can find their passport, send them home!

1) Because it's cheaper to let them go than to deport them. It can cost over $20,000 to deport even a single person as you need to lock them up during the deportation process and you need to pay for their lawyers and appeals and so on.

2) Because the UK government is weak and liberal.

3) Because the UK government is hogtied by the European convention on Human Rights which they often interpret in the most extreme way possible. Usually to the determent of the general British population.

4) because if they detain them then they have to admit exactly how big a problem the UK has with illegals. It's huge, and I mean absolutely massive. There are literally camps full of people in France waiting for a chance to come to Britain. It's like the US-Mexico situation *100.

Unchecked uncontrolled immigration has destroyed this once great nation and it sickens me. I no longer recognise my home nation, I feel like I am the foreigner here.
It's absolutely pathetic.

Apparently like the U.S. and its bizarre thinking, they don't pose a threat.

They pull the same absconding act here in the U.S. too after being instructed to show on a court date. I personally think they need to be detained until all issues are or have been resolved.

easy people enter the UK with tourist visa and never return back to their homw country, obviously they are cheap labours and they can find jobs in the UK with greedy employers who don't want to pay high salary or even tax for them.

UK need more and more illegal, student, student dependent, post study work permit holders to satisfy its requirements.NHS is free for everybody and perhaps this is the reason for never catching such people.
