Why are so many unaware that many mexicans have never crossed over the border and that the border crossed them

since 1600's .The American states of CA,AZ,NM,TX were once part of the mexican government and the USA harrased Mexico to sell it for 2 cents an acre but the people could stay.
Then they pushed them out.

You find someone from the 1600's or the 1850's to file a complaint and we'll have it adjudicated in Court. Until then, this is 2008, and illegal means illegal.

blah, blah, blah.. a treaty was signed by Mexico and the US... that is the end of the story.. we won, they lost... it happens.. it has happened in every Country... when Mexico signed the Treaty they lost control over all the States...sorry about their luck.. if they didn't want to sell they wouldn't have... and it was for a bit more then 2 cents an acre.. also.. we didn't kick anyone out.. any Mexican that resided in the states were given the choice of staying and becoming Americans or going to what was left of Mexico- so no.. they are crossing the border.. we bought and paid for the land.. it is now ours..

Yes, but the many is not that many. Very few Mexicans lived in what is now norht of the border. Mexico couldn't even control a revolt in California made up of 30 American settlers in Northern California. Rancheros at the time were the size of small states. SO far I have met one Mexican who's heritage dates back to the Ranchero days. Her family moved back to MExico, but was driven back north like mine because Mexican army decided to steal land and murder people. If your trying to say our country was injustice, Yes, it was bad back then and it can approve now. Mexico no matter how you cut it is far worse and I am tired that people use this as a leverage to push illegal activites. America gave the Mexican people of this land ampe time to decide which side of the borer to live. At the time both sides of the border was filled with inequity. It's not my fault that there are those who choose the wrong side of the border.

I am not so sure that they are ignorant of these facts----I think they just don't give damn !

There are so many Spanish speaking newcomers that a large segment of the Gringos are tired of their presence regardless of how long they've been here or what their status is.

My personal opinion is that English should be established as an official language.......... and that it should be one of 2 !... the other being Spanish since such large segments of the western states were Spanish-speaking in times pre-dating their federation into the USA.

Portions of existing law in these states is based on Spanish common law which should be proof enough of legal consanguinity !

I am not sure that I agree with Rais Tijerina and his antics/actions but I feel there is justificatiion to some of these claims for land put forward by families concerned over their land deprivation.

Mexico sold the land and now that it has prospered they want it back. Furthermore, the sale, however it developed, was legal, and now some Mexicans ignore criminal acts supported by the Mexican government, to 'get' their land back.

So much for the history lesson but what has that got to do with now? The Mexicans crossing over the border today are not covered by what happened in the past. They are illegal by the law now.

Guess what.... I wasn't alive then. I bet you weren't either. and i bet none of the illegal people in our country were either. Are you on the slavery band wagon also? I did NOT do anything to take away someones land. I did not enslave anyone. Whats done is done. I doubt there are any slaves alive left and i doubt anyone is alive who sold (whatever the price) their land to the us. Are you going to start attacking Britain now? From what i've heard they weren't very nice in the past. Or Germany? Get over it. We have done (as a nation) the most we could to right the wrongs. If you would like do be a citizen for free then do it how every other american did, have your mother give birth inside the border.
