Some guy above me compared speeding to illegal immigration....very comical and completely lame. Securing our borders is a matter of national security. We must know who and how many enter and exit our country no matter what it costs.
The only reasons that I can think of is either they are personally involved (marriage or mate) or they have family or friends that can't enter...other than that they are just "feel" good people who are severely misguided and or misinformed. |

Stupidly and cowardice. Stand up for your country and defend it at all cost. If you do not you will be speaking Spanish or worse on a payer rug 5 times a day. |

I have an even better idea. Why don't they revolt against the corrupt and greedy Mexican government that keeps it's people enslaved in poverty, instead of coming up here and trying to destroy what remains of the rights of the American working class? |

For the same reason that nothing ever works as it should.
The fact that people are easily corrupted and that they all have their own selfish agendas to fulfill. |

They are against it because the ILLEGALS have not directly affected their neighborhood`s and town`s yet ! It is a typical social progressive`s behavior that if a problem doesn`t have an immediate effect on their personal lifestyle and behavior, then to them there is no problem ! They must make themselves therefore "Feel Good" about it by whining and complaining how the Illegals are made not to be welcomed ! When the flood of Illegals hits` their town and neighborhoods` , and the crime & drug problem`s start to spiral out of control , then they will be the first ones` to "blame someone else for the problem" as they always do . They are never responsible for anything that they themselves help create by ignoring the issue`s & problem`s !! |

Because they look for personal gain. They may want to show how accepting they are. This may be the way to prove they are liberals.
And then again they don't read the newspapers, don't think and make decisions about what is right or wrong, don't respect the laws, like to hire cheap labor-- and bury their heads in the sand.
They have no idea of immigration laws either in this country or in another. They think the gov'ment takes care of everyone.
If we can't enforce our laws or don't care enough to enforce our laws, we've already lost the game. |

I wish it was like it should be and the police would send them all back unless they have their papers. But that is just a wish because they just come right back. When I was in high school I had thirteen latinos in the same grade when i was a senior we had 7 left for graduation now the others where locked up or dead or dropped out or pregnant. Now that was in 91 but it is worse now then it was then because these teachers don't care. If you ask me the government should make all teachers saleries on a grade scale. Sort of like if their students do really well on their tests then the pay increases but if their students fail then their pay decreases. |

ill tell you, democrats want them to come here because they are usually very cheap, and illegals work cheaper than legal citizens. so democrats want them here to work for them. people make the excuse that illegals do the jobs that nobody wants to do right? well guess what, Americans did those jobs before they came and started putting real citizens out of business. |

Immigration and School Overcrowding
Immigration is overwhelming school systems.
“The level of immigration is so massive, it’s choking urban schools ...It’s bad enough when you have desperate kids with U.S. backgrounds who require massive resources. In come kids with totally different needs, and it creates crushing burdens on urban schools.â€
David W.Stewart,
author of Immigration and Education: The Crisis and Opportunities
The U.S. school-aged population has reached an all-time high of 55 million. Between 1990 and 2000, enrollment increased by 14 percent. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the size of the student body will almost double by 2100. Yet without school-age immigrants (about 250,000 a year) and the children of immigrants (about 725,000 a year), school enrollment would not be rising at all.
The share of students in the U.S. who are immigrants or the children of immigrants has tripled in the past 30 years; in 1970, they were only 6.5 percent of the student body. Today, one in five students has at least one foreign-born parent. In California, almost half of the students starting school are immigrants or the children of immigrants.
As a result of this immigration-driven population growth, about 14 percent of schools exceed their capacity by six to 25 percent, and eight percent exceed it by more than 25 percent. To alleviate overcrowding, more than one-third of schools use portable classrooms, and one-fifth hold classes in temporary instructional space, such as cafeterias and gyms.
The problem has become severe enough that there is now a federal Bilingual/Immigrant State Grant program to assist school systems that experience large increases in their student population due to immigration. This program awards about $700 million a year to affected districts (National Association of Bilingual Education). |

The laws are good laws. They're just not enforceable.
Just like speeding- is it a good thing that there are laws to keep people from going as fast as they want? Sure. But are they 100% enforceable? Nope. So what to do? Want a speed cop every ten feet on the freeway? OK. Want to *pay* for that enforcement? |

It's not about being against enforcing them
Its about regressive tough-boy wannabees screeching about and pimping immigration 'reform' during an election cycle, because gay marriage, 9/11 and the 'culture of life' don't work anymore |

Because nothing has been done about it for so long, it would be unethical to just throw them all out. It is also creepy how much attention is being diverted to this subject all of a sudden. |
