I mean look at those labor forces in south ... amigos in the service sectors .... If we kicked them out of the country, we would not only have a major shortage of labor, but also a major loss of tax revenue for offsetting the aging baby-boomer population. By the way the last point would be crucial for the US to remain healthy compared to the rest of industrialized nations. |

Because most of them do NOT pay taxes. The little sales tax they may pay if they buy something here does not in any way come close to the income tax, social security tax, property tax, school taxes, etc that US citizens pay. And what's more - the immigrants make DEMANDS on things they are not even paying into. |

Why are immigrants rights group distorting the issue?
There is no effort in America today to stop immigration. With the exception of a full blooded Native American we all in America are decedents of immigrants.
What congress and many Americans are angry about and are trying to stop are "ILLEGAL" immigrants. If you are here from another country and are here legally, are working legally paying your taxes, going to school I have no issue with that at all.
The problem is with those who sneak across the borders. I am not going to say they are criminals or drug dealers because I do not know any of them personally. Wait, let me rephrase that. I won't say they are drug dealers but THEY ARE criminals. It is against the law to sneak across the border and if you are here by doing that you broke the law and are therefore a criminal. As such you are subject to whatever punishment the laws allow. Does anyone really believe just because someone snuck in across a border they should be exempt from a law?
America has laws in place for anyone to petition for amnesty. There are also laws in place to allow LEGAL immigration. There are LEGAL work visas. And there are legal ways to become a citizen.
It is a fact that working immigrants pay taxes. It is also a fact that ILLEGAL immigrants do not pay taxes. You can not pay taxes without a tax id or social security number and you can't get that (at least you are not supposed to get that) if you are here illegally.
So I say quit manipulating the issues saying us Americans are against immigration. We are against ILLEGAL immigration.
In all fairness I do believe that if there are going to be stricter laws on illegal immigration then the lawmakers also have to make it easier to immigrate here legally.
The borders do not need sealed, just reasonably controlled. |

Its true that most immigrants are good people who do work and give to our country. But many came here illegally and now, for some reason, have a problem with Americans wanting to stop this illegal flow and possible fine them for coming illegally. About the taxes and drugs. I do know that illegals are alot less likely to pay taxes. |

The only taxes they pay is when they purchase something. This is called sales tax. Since they do not have a social security number, FICA and MICA are not deducted. If they use an emergency room, the expenses are paid out of public resources, which come from taxes deducted from sales tax and other funds by the government.
Remember you can only have a preparation of income tax if you have a social security number or a tax ID, which is given to a corporation.
Immigrants do help taking jobs people would not do, however, when given the opportunity to even get registered with INS, they do not do it, e.g., certain people from Central America where given the chance to obtain a work permit, but only a small percentage number of people did register.
This is a country with opportunites, but it is a country that charges you for every process. |

I didn't have a lot of sympathy for illegal immigrants, but the sight of all those Mexican flags on the streets wiped away any sympathy I had left. In my state, chicken plant and hog farm employees are required to speak Spanish, because the Hispanics refuse (or, maybe can't...) speak English. Our schools and health care systems are over-loaded with non-English speaking students. Kids can't help it, but their parents can........ |

I think that if people would stop and talk to a few Mexicans, and not judge them, they would find that they are more like us then not. The majority of them have some kind of social security card. They pay in and then cant collect, like we can, because they are illegal.
Maybe if they could keep the jobs that they get, use their own ss cards, and be given the opportunities we are you stupid people would see that they are very hard workers, dont mind paying taxes and from the hundreds of examples I have see, have better morals and stronger sense of family they the majority of us TRUE AMERICANS.
Where did your family come from? Unless you are an American Indian, it was from some other country. Why pretend all this crap. You dont want them because they make you look lazy.

About the tax, well, say the pay income tax is not something the American likes to accept.
THIS PEOPLE PAY INCOME TAX,SALES TAX, RENT TAX,ETC.
I have volunteer for the city s tax preparer, and the fill a form W-7 and the IRS gives them a number for tax purposes (ITIN).
Also in 2002,the IRS had issued 5.3 MILLION of this tax numbers.
But I think is just an anti-immigrant wave, like in the '90 with black people, they need just to blame someone. |
