Because of stereotyping. Everyone knows that most illegals in the US are Hispanic. But there will be cries of "racism" and "only targeting Hispanics" and such if the police only go after suspected illegals that are Hispanic. Police and law enforcement needs to go after all illegals in the US. If you are here legally then you have nothing to worry about!

If something is illegal it is illegal period. However, some like to look at it as an opinion. I say if someone is deliberately breaking a law and it is hurting others enforcement should happen. That is what illegal immigrants are doing, hurting U.S. tax payers and their children.

Racial profiling. That's what it's all about. They won't enforce those laws because the are accused of racial profiling and then they are sued. Our stupid officials don't care that a law is broken by illegals, they just don't won't to be called racist.

1. Because the severity of your illegal act depends on how it affects others and your own well-being.

2. Because some "illegal" acts are more trackable and easily found out than others. This makes it hard in some cases to enforce laws.

It's just a RIGHT WINGED idea to have Police enforce immigration law.

Being brown or saying "Jello", instead of "Yellow" doesn't mean that person is illegally here. I doubt you know of officers that are aware of a house full of illegals as you say!

We have Federal Officials to enforce "FEDERAL LAW", and that's their job. Nothing is more illegal then others.

Local police shouldn't enforce immigration law

SAN DIEGO, California (CNN) -- The wacky world of immigration reform is full of half-baked ideas, but none has the taste of having spent less time in the oven than letting local cops enforce federal immigration law.

Now the issue is raging in Phoenix, Arizona, where media hound Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio struck an agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, authorizing the training of 100 deputies to arrest illegal immigrants who pose a threat to national security or public safety

Things also are heating up in Irving, Texas, where police officers are using -- some say abusing -- an ICE initiative called the Criminal Alien Program, which allows local police departments to detain illegal immigrants who have been accused of a crime.
