Why are undocumented Mexicans being unfairly targeted in the "fight against illegal aliens"?

Illegal Immigrants DO pay taxes! I've been a witness of this. I have family members that immigrated here illegally from Mexico and they DO pay taxes. I'm a witness. And yes we are a necessary part of the economy. It will suffer maybe not severely but it will. Just imagine if all the illegal aliens left back to their country and weren't allowed to come back. There will be more money lost than gained. And yes if they left there will be lots of jobs, but I doubt that Americans today will want to work in the blazing heat cutting trees. What will happen to those companies? They will suffer because not many Americans these days want to do that job. Illegal aliens work harder than people think.

And isn't this America the "Free"? America shouldn't deny someone the right to improve their life. America is the land of oppurtunities, why should we NOT include people from other countries, they're human beings too. And it's inhumane to brand someone ILLEGAL just because they weren't born here.

Is it really unfair targeting or do Mexicans just happen to make up the majority of undocumented workers.

it's true that mexicans r cheap sources of labor ..but they r creating a chaos and the country's economy will go down when they start dominating the south and the east in terms of population.

i see what you are saying but they target them because they are the only people illegally trying to come into the states, minus a few cubans and a minority of others. reguardless, even if they help the workforce, they should contribute to social security, instead of just taking it.

I just don't believe that. How can illegal immigrants really help our economy. We end up spending millions on health care and assistance, It is not racism, There have always been laws on illegal immigration. It does not matter where they are from...Mexico, Europe, Asia. Illegal is illegal.

They are "targeted" because they are trully the majority of people coming into this country illegally. No question there. It is also true that they have become an intrigal part of our economy, however, they have also become a drain on it as well ie: social services, doctor care and hospitalization with no way to pay the bill, no auto insurance so those here legally have to pay the bill, etc, etc...
With that all said, I honestly think it is a shame and a sin, that our own government doesn't respond faster to making those who want to enter our country legally, become citizens. Last I heard it took decades. That is totally wrong. Let the contributors in and give them citizenship. Let the slackers stay on the other side of the border. Maybe there is racism in some people, but I strongly believe this is more of an economic issue and an issue of properly securing the borders for the real threat amoung us (terrorists).
Let's educate, employ, and make citizens of those who really want it.

it's not racism, just an issue of law. we live in a society of laws. there's a reason for it. we can't pick and choose which law we want to obey. i guess you can, but there will be consequences to the law being broken. and if illegals want to be a part of american society, they need to obey and respect our laws. that's the issue. as far as being a positive influence on our economy... i could give several instances where ILLEGALS are a strain on the economy... over-crowded jails, hospitals, welfare programs, schools.... not to mention the millions of lost income tax revenue.. and the burden becomes displaced upon the American taxpayer. that's why it's such a huge issue with society.... it has NOTHING to do with race as you imply. as far as the University study goes.... well, institutions like Arizona State are known for having liberal ideals.. though there are conservatives that have turned a cheek to illegal immigration, for the most part, the right is against it.. the far left... not. so i wouldn't look too much into a study done by them.

GAELIC- the documentation you speak of regarding taxes paid is untrue. yes, there are some institutions that help undocumented workers pay their federal taxes. but, for the most part, illegals do NOT pay their federal income taxes nor Social Security taxes. the local income is not so much a problem due to the sales tax on purchased items and other revenue generators like property taxes.

Yeah they need to be part of the system like dumplin or whatever her name was said. because they feed off the system without paying their taxes. If canadians came over the border illegally I wouldn't have a problem kicking them out either. I'm not racist and I don't have a problem with immigrants or the jobs they do. As long as they realize that freedom isn't free, not for them, not for anybody.

i believe it has to do with the number of mexicans coming across our borders illegally versus the number of french, indian, itilians.. etc.. its probably 10000 to 1.. thats why they are targeted..

Ya but think how much of our taxes go into the public school system each year to educate them yet they do not contribute to the taxes in return. What about the spending on medicare? How many use it that don't inturn support it financially? Yes they are a vital part of the economy but they can do so like any other person that came into this country, legally.

Unfairly targeted? I live in CA and if mexicans are the target, it's because they are HALF of the population. It disgusts me to see billboards in spanish and every other radio station is spanish. I'm not originially from here and I tell people to come see me in "little mexico." Talk about unassimilated. Talk about demanding people. Many of the illegal mexicans are bums who want free stuff from americans.

They pull down the wages so others can not work and make a living... They take all the jobs so others are unemployed...there are so many of them that unless you are bi-lingual you can not get a job now...

The crime rate is keeping the Police Dept busy.....

The stripped abandoned vehicle beautify our streets.

The welfare and food stamp people are getting lots of over time.....

the illegals get the benefits while those of us who have worked for years are denied any type of assistance....

we can't get food stamps or medical even though they have taken our jobs....

the gangs teach our children fear and self defense....

they don't pay taxes, they share the same social security number, 15 of them will purchase a house and destroy it and the neighborhood...

they send millions of dollars back to mexico and then truck the drugs back in...

we can't buy or rent anything now because mex has destroyed / trashed so many properties that the price is just way too high to get in....and there is now tons of extra paperwork to even attempt it...

The stores are filled with the cheap crappy mex trash products....

and what sort of work force would you call a mex guy with 5 women that have 4 or 5 kids by him??

WRONG! Any person here illegally is part of the problem. I work in law enforcement here in Arizona. A LARGE portion of the crime here is due to illegal immigrants. And guess where they are from? You got it- Mexico. Take a drive down Interstate 10. They are horrible drivers. Walk into a local fast-food restaurant, you can't even understand the person taking your order. Almost all the gang activity here is due to Latino illegal immigrants. Why should they be allowed to not pay taxes? Do you need any more reasons?

I hate to rain on your parade but no university studies are accurate - they find what the people who funded the study want them to find. I am guessing it is those screaming Arizona farmers who funded this one. Mexicans are not being targeted exclusively. The US Mexican border is very porous. The US-Canada is also porous but not as bad as our southern border. Central Americans(Guatemalans, Hondurans etc...) are also picked up by ICE.
Not many Canadians sneak across the border to come to America to find jobs.
Have you ever thought that when ICE goes in for a raid of a place of business and the workers are people who don't speak any English and either don't have documents or have forged documents.

No, they are not being unfairly targeted. Most people who are in the United States illegally came to the United States from Mexico. If most people who were in the United States illegally were from Germany, then most of the people arrested for illegal immigration would be German.

It is plain and simple. If they came here legally and were screened like all other immigrants then they would not be targeted like they are. They may contribute to the economy but the crime rate has also increase tremendously. I don't see how they are helping our economy. They are forcing wages lower than what we are use to. I am not willing to take lower pay, live with 15 other people in a 2 bedroom apartment and eat beans and rice. Please read below. If they come here legally then it is easier to catch them when they do do crimes. However, most run back over the border and are never prosecuted.

i think its because their the main people to cross your boarder, and i think America is trying to get rid of them so they don't cause crime and create havoc. that's whats happening here in the UK. we let them in, they get everything they want, benefits, housing accomodations, and then they take advantage of the things they get given to them by the government.
To be honest its a 50/50 situation. On one hand the good immigrants are unfairly treated and on the other bad immigrants are getting away.

I'm pretty sure that people who are calling anit-illegals racists is flat out racism. I can't find any legitimate reasons why Americans are unfairly targeted. Study after study shows that Americans living in America legally contribute to our economy and are a necessary part of our work force. Even Arizona State Universities own study clumped together legal and illegal workers as if they are one in the same and concluded overall, that America is mostly made up of immigrants but the illegal immigrants don't pay taxes, commit many crimes, drain the social welfare system, "dumb-down" the education system, etc. etc. so they probably shouldn't have clumped the two groups together in the first place since they are not one in the same. Furthermore, the study failed to mention that it was a full one page in length and completed by Juan at the expense of American taxpayers.

I don't care if Mexicans come here to live and to work, provided they are law abiding and pay taxes like the rest of us, but they should also learn English and function as members of our society. They should, also, get their citizenship if they want to live and work here. People from other countries come here, too, but they typically learn the language, become citizens and educate their kids to be Americans. If I moved to Mexico, I would want to learn to live as a Mexican and I'd make sure my kids and I knew Spanish. While I'm sure a lot of Mexicans do this too, just as many don't and their kids are foisted on our public school system, not knowing English, and the schools suffer. (I mean, seriously, all my kids' school papers were coming home in Spanish, including their report cards.)
