Why are white people so racist?

It is not true, but for quite a long time in the 20 and 19 centuries it was the influx of Europe all over the world that made them like that. Moreover think of how Australia was made they were convicts sent over there. That and in many other places the English and the French rooted this method onto people all over the world. Same applied to America and that is why they lost their wars there against people without any real power and background. I trust that Whites in your lexicon are Caucasians. Their fervent superiority is a thing of the past. They were beaten in the US and the Us became a Country in spite of their power, in Australia they never gave way to anybody else except recently, in other places it was the Turkish empire or Ottoman Empire that had that put in the countries. Simply the heritage continues and they become weaker so they behave in that defensive way due to inferiority complexes. It is psychological above all.

It's not just white people, it's just that you come from a country that has mostly white people in it. Racism exists in all countries/cultures.

Racial intolerance is across the board, there are no ethnic groups who are not intolerant of those who are not themselves.

yeah and we live in the day and age where Dave Chapelle can jokingly say yeah we're playing a game of basketball with these white people for our freedom, I'll never understand why this hatred against the different races amongst this planet will never go away, these ignorant people that are racist like this will never go away, I just hope you know that we are not all racist, I love having the friends that I have at my work place, we can hardly understand each other but we work pretty well together and I guess you could say for how little we do communicate with each other we still have enough between us to have a laugh while we are working, and I see a lot of beautiful women in all races, I think it would just be ignorant of a person to limit their options so easily because hate is more important to them, I fall in love with women of all races, and I enjoy hanging out and making friends with people of all races, especially if they feed me, heck, then I will love anyone, I'll follow you around like a puppy, anyways this is a pretty small planet for 6 billion people, we need to find a way to start co existing with each other in a peaceful manner, watching the way the world is going currently I am more afraid of another attack on us soil than I am about the color of someones skin

Depends on the person's upbringing, I was always taught to treat others as you you wish to be treated yoursels no matter where they are from, that's rubbed off on me and I have passed it on to my 9 year old son.

I am Filipino and I do want to answer this question. Whites are not all racist, only some of them, same does apply to every race in the world. You know, racism would only stop if we would have the ability to understand our similarities and differences, the ability to give mutual respect and the ability to not have a generalized mind. Your question was racist. You singled out "white people." Individuals are the problems, not races in general. I have seen just as many racist arab people, black people, asian people, and other people of color as well as white. It is natural to be fearful of things which are different - education however, usually helps to overcome these fears.

I can tell from your question that you are uneducated, and yourself are a racist. Look in the mirror, read your question from a white person's perspective... you've become what you hate. Enlighten yourself and stop being such a hater - spread understanding instead of encouraging and spreading these diseased thoughts.

White people are not racist ... SOME white people are. In the same way that SOME black, brown etc people are.

Racism is ignorance .. its born of fear of change, the need to blame someone / anyone for the problems of the world.

In some cases it is the need to 'fit in with a crowd' like football hooliganism.

In some cases it is the need to blame 'them' for the fact that someone cant get off their lazy *** and actually work for a living.

The one thing I (as a anglo / indian man who is British through and through and proud of it) would encourage you to do is not stereotype white people as racists .. isnt that normally what the racists do to everyone else?

You really think whites can't compete educationally with immigrants? The high-school drop out rate is 44.2% for Hispanics born outside of the fifty states.
If white people are afraid of immigrants its because their crime rate is many times higher than the white crime rate.

You mention 'taking their jobs', I presume, whatever is your race/colour, you'd be unhappy too if other people came to your country to 'take your jobs'.

But the fact is, countries with majority of white people are the most developed now and are attracting people from all over the world. Furthermore, people from outside are used to living with less, so have lower demands for wages, benefits...

It is normal that the capitalistic profit driven society that made these economies the most developed would also want to pay the least for any specific job. Hence the fear that the 'white' people have of the 'ethnic minority' in terms of 'taking their jobs'.

I am not sure however that it's a pure 'colour' issue either, it's an insider-outsider issue, recall the stories about Poles taking over jobs across Europe, or even East Germans invading West Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

But that said, most insiders are 'white' and outsiders are not; racism is a lazy way out.

It worries me how racist people are becoming, I've heard so awful comments over the last few months.

But please don't judge all white people by this standard (or be fooled that only white people are racist) - all the Brits I know are open-minded, intelligent people who hate this kind of ignorance (whatever their race)

Racism is essential as we are all basically animals. The animal kingdom= predators and prey, same thing with our sorry asses except, we are truly dangerous to ourselves and everything around us. The only good thing is mother nature can fix our arrogance in a second, so look before you leap..
