Why as an english person,do i feel second class in my own country?

native red indians, and aboriginies (excuse the spelling) are the real natives of their countrys, it truly belongs to them, yet white man came along and took over.
I am a white english person, born and bred here, and yes i feel that our needs and traditions are slowly dwindling away for the sake of the minorities.
The thing is, if we all descended on one of their countries, we would be expected to act and do as they do
After all, when in rome do as the romans do
this kind of thing has been happening for centuries.
I feel that if people want to come live here they should firstly work solidly for a good period of time before being able to claim anything, also they should be made to live as we do, and not expect us to bow to their wants and needs
and if they dont like that they should then go home
Our values and traditions are just as important to us as theirs are to them, therefore if they come here they should respect that

Multi-culturalism is a politically correct mirage. It doesn't work. A country needs unified morals, language, values, laws, goals, methods. If people come to the UK, we welcome them but they have to understand that they have to adapt to us and not vice versa. If they are attracted enough by what we stand for to come here, they should be willing to stand for the same things.

its the same here in Ireland ,the country is over run with foreigners .fair play to them if they want to work but must of the Jobs are being undercut by them and the Irish are now finding it hard to make a living, if you say anything you are called a racist which I'm not but i think that too many are being left in

As an "english person" or as an American?

Americans should never feel as if they are second class citizens. Any person from whatever country they are from shouldn't feel that way either.

Once the immigration problem is fixed we will all have to be as one "Americans", if people come here and don't want to assimilate they should consider staying in their own country.

I don't feel 2nd class, but I know what you mean, luckily we havent got too many where I live yet, but it won't be long as my Grandad used to say before the whole of Britain is full of foreigners

sorry to say, "you are" All the recent governments have allowed anyone into the country, and expected us to pay for them. Now it so bad here that the politicians is scared to speak out against immigration as it will cost his/her party votes. or their meal ticket into the house of commons. Just accept it and start looking after number one, that all you can do now, maybe one day us Brits will wake up and say we've had enough, but i wouldn't hold my breath.

There is nothing in the way of discriminaton to make you feel "second class"; so if you feel that way, it is simply because of your own failings or bad luck that have put you in a bad situation. It's just a wast of energy, as well as unpleasant, to go around blaming immigrants, instead you need to focus on how you can improve your own life. I know it can be a struggle, but it's the only way that works!

I feel the same with all these immigrants (mostly african) looking down their noses at us and acting as if the law of this country doesnt apply to them while the government give them everything on a plate and let them get away with whatever they want

Well, I find that a lot of immigrants come over here do want to work and a lot do the jobs that english folks don't want to do - eg. street cleaning, factory work, refuse collection. So they contribute to the nation. However, I do think that the government needs to review the process of who can claim benefits. I think you should only be allowed to claim for benefits for half the amount of time you have ever worked in the country. So if you have only worked for 1 year, then you can only claim for 6 months max. And you must have to work for a year, before you can start claiming.

The blunder you made is that you were not selective in whom you took in.
Even now you have to openly acknowledge which groups of people contribute to your economy and which dont.

It is quite simple. If you do not like the way you feel or you perceive yourself and others like you as being second class then do something about it instead of whinging on about it.
One thing you should be very grateful for is that you do have a choice, not the case if you lived somewhere oppressive like North Korea or Bhutan.
Get that chip off your shoulder and if you cannot tolerate the present environment you live and wish to remain a bigot then "upsticks" and move out to country where society is not measured in classes, somewhere like North Korea, probably well suited for you, I am sure you would enjoy it there, an equal amongst equals!

That is a feeling brought on by frustration and/or lack of self confidence.Both of those create feelings of helplessness and sense of loss.But you can fix that by taking control of those things you can control.Read up on the subjects that bother you.Gain as much information from solid sources as you can.Many times we fight the boogie man in our own heads and then find out he's not real.Good luck

I think that you need to start by not being 'all for multi-culture'. That, and empowering other minority groups is what has led to the subjugation of the majority English population. Also, the word culture is often misapplied to those pursuing their own religious and political beliefs.

Having read some of the other responses, they could make you weep with despair. Firstly, our opinions have never been sought regarding immigration. Secondly, we don't need foreigners to do jobs in this country. What we need instead is to train our own people, and/or to make those on the unemployment register do the jobs. Not to mention the 3.5million on the benefits register who should be on the unemployment register. Even the Government admits this. And thirdly, to see this problem only in economic terms is short sited. What about the knock on social problems and the pressure on public services? It is also important to point out for those obsessed with the economic/jobs side of immigration, that immigration (even the so called legal ones) are not being selected on the basis of need, but because the EU says it's OK.

Whilst there are sensible people on this site, there are a lot of ignorant ones as well. Rant over.

I agree with what you think - I have nothing against them but especially housing they should be put at the end of the waiting list like everyone else not straight to the top - would we get that in their country -NO.

If immigrants were thrown out and others not allowed in, we wouldn't need to discuss any problem points and wouldn't life be so much easier. Why not not just shoot them when they get to our beaches. What a complete waste of time and effort trying to combat problems when the problem should not be occuring in the first place.

Thats life im afraid! Im glad our country is becoming multi cultured although not so glad that my taxes are being sent to familys abroad. such a touchy subject, one nobody will agree on.

If you are unemployed, you can claim benefits like every unemployed person. As for housing, have you seen the state of most council properties? Do you *really* want social housing? In the UK, if you are white, you get better jobs and opportunities. Is your gripe about the taxes? White people are not the only ones who work and pay taxes. White people also get benefits. Ever heard of a white person who didn't get his/her benefit because immigrants finished all the money? Jeez!

White people not only get the best jobs in their country, they get best jobs in other people's countries. Those other people are made to feel like second class citizens in their own country. Do you know that feeling? You really don't.

IMO, you need learn to see things from a different point of view. Just count lucky stars that you don't have to go through some of the sh!t that immigrants experience.
