A Syrian woman had got a visa to get in U.S. as the spouse of her husband who win the lotto of the Green Card, but he couldn't been to U.S. . After a consultation of the U.S. Embassy in Damascus, she went to California. the Authority didn't accept her without her husband, then she tolled them I want to get back to my home country. she is now in Santa Ana, Los-Angelos for a month ! waiting for deportation !
What a treatment !?
we are her family in Syria, we are surprised of the way they are handling this case ! it should be against the law to hold her freedom ! she want to get back.
Any body can explain what could be going on ?

They gave her a grace period of some weeks waiting for the husband to come. when he couldn't , they asked her what she want . first she asked to stay, but after 4 days she changed her mind and asked them to let her get back ( she has a return ticket !).

Well, she's not allowed to come ahead of her husband since he was the actual winner or the principle applicant. sounds like they parolled her in since her husband didn't come with her or ahead of her, to allow him to come in, so that's not exactly unfair treatment at that point. Now that it appears he isn't coming, she has to go. If she'd just hopped on a plane without asking them, they wouldn't have stopped her. I'm surprised they picked her up and put her in detention though. Perhaps they decided she was playing games with them and her husband was never coming over to begin with. She's probably being held to wait for an official hearing with an immigration judge who will decide whether to order her deportation or removal under voluntary departure. since she has no status in the US at this point, they have every right under immigration law to do this, especially if they consider her a flight risk for some reason that I can't see based on what you've said here. but it's still unusual and expensive for them as well. she must have really irritated someone at immigration, even if only by accident. |

The United Stated will most likely release her to your home after they do extensive checks and can verify her visa.
If her husband was not present and he is the one with the dominant visa, she is only allowed with her husband. Even though she wants to go back, The United States won't allow it. It's just like a terrorist wanting to get back after he has smuggled something in for an organization state-side.
Not saying that she is terrorist, but the Unites States has to precautions, the way things are going today. |

Was she able to pay for her own ticket and get a flight? Usually, the first choice seems to be to give someone voluntary deportation. If not, they're probably holding her for deportation which they'll pay for and provide. |
