Why did Mitt Romney hire an illegal alien to do his yard work at his mansion ?

I was working on a Casino project and there were hundreds of illegals working there.
This is how it works:

The contractor hires temporary help via a "Sub_Contractor".

The "Sub" brings in legal help then begins filtering in the illegals.
The "CONTRACTOR" hired "LEGALS"
The "SUB CONTRACTOR SNEAKS IN THE ILLEGALS"!
EVERYONE TURNS THEIR HEADS>>>AS LONG AS THE JOB IS GETTING DONE!!!
And so was born the slogan. "GIT R DUN".
How can you hire anyone and KNOW they won't bring in someone else that isn't legal? Especially if your not overseeing the project?
Do you think Mitt Romney oversees who his yard is kept by? I doubt it!!!

Cheap shot. Romney hired a company who hired some illegals. When the matter was brought to Romney's attention, he fired the company. If you're trying to imply that he's soft on illegal immigration, you'd be wrong.

When you go out to eat in a restaurant, do you ask to see the employee records before you eat?? Obviously not, because you assume the employers verified their employee's citizenship status/right to work as they should.

He didn't "accidentally" hire illegals. He hired a contractor. The contractor was at fault. PERIOD.

If you shop at Sears and they hire illegal aliens, is it your fault?? HELL NO!! you assume they did THEIR job when hiring their employees. Customers don't have the right nor responsibility to do "background" checks of employees at stores, restaurants, or anywhere else they shop.

This is common sense stuff here....

The contractor could only be prosecuted if he knowingly and intentionally hired an illegal criminal alien. If the employee produced false or stolen identification, and the employee conducted the citizenship requirements according to procedure wherever this was located, he didn't do anything wrong.

When you hire a COMPANY or CONTRACTOR to do yard work at your house, they generally have a crew or several crews. You may get different people doing your yard work every time they cut your grass or trim your hedges. Employees come and go in a business such as this, it's an extremely high turnover rate. It is the employer's responsibility to determine their eligibility to work. PERIOD.

Mitt Romeny hired a contractor, like you or I do...the contractor apparently hired the illegal alien. It's a shame that the customer is going to have to go ask for citizenship papers from every person that a general contractor brings to his home (I had 23 at my house when they re-roofed it) but after seeing how shady they are, you can be certain more will. I don't fault Romeny...I DO fault the contractor.

Remember this, all illegals, when a contractor hires you and the customers start requesting your documents. That's what this story has kicked up. Don't start crying "privacy rights" because you now have none. We are all on notice that we are responsible for making sure that YOU are legal when you come to our home to work. I certainly will be.

You can't have it both ways. You can't say "it's none of your business" and then wail "why did you hire me?"

A contractor hired an illegal alien or two, and when McCain's boys sniffed it out, they told the press Romney hired them.

When Romney found out, he fired the contractor.

For all you know, he may have been using this company for 5 years and the illegal criminal alien was hired 2 days ago. No customer can keep up with all the employees of companies they hire.

Yard work is not a "project", it's an ongoing continual job. Therefore you don't have someone "overseeing" it. You hire a company to do the work and be done with it. The company provides people to do the work...they send whoever is available. Usually the customer is not even home when the work is done, since they're AT WORK, so no one is "overseeing it".

Just a comment about Walmart and illegal aliens. They HAVE been caught "accidentally" hiring illegal aliens through subcontractors. More than once (some cases have been direct hire). That's one of the reasons I refuse to shop there.

Customers that eat at a Denny's or Shoney's are not "breaking the law" by eating there if the restaurant hires illegal aliens. They don't have the RIGHT or the RESPONSIBILITY to verify the employees right to work there.

everybody does hire directly or indirectly someone who is illegal aliens ....and they don't even know it but like they say ignorance does not excuse anyone from following the law.

all yard workers should be checked to see if they are illegals, most only do the the work to scope out your property and then come back to steal whatever they can!!! They are always looking over their shoulders if you notice, and always looking at the properties next to them and scoping out the neighborhoods. I would never hire one.
