Rich in spices, minerals, and possible gold, Columbus had to secure these resources for the Crown. No worries about the original owners, Columbus reasoned that it's original inhabitants would be easy to conquer.They could 'easilly' be converted to Christianity, and used as slaves. "I could conquer the whole of them with fifty men and govern them as I please" - Columbus. This is what he went on to do.

hahahah it was an accident first of all. Second there was no advanced civilization here...ex. no developed army native Americans were peacful and untill late in the game didnt resist. Also the population of the indians was significant less than that of China. Not to mention we were finding more and more land that hd never been inhabited. China has been established for thousands of years!! did that answer ur question? |
