Unfortunately a lot of Americans are wrongly informed and cannot see past their own nose. They will say things like "illegal" and they are taking our jobs, our land and our taxes.
Yet these “illegals” pay a huge amount of money, risk their lives and the lives of their family just to come to this country. They do it to have a better life for them and their family. Something they cannot have in their country. The system used to come over to the U.S. doesn't work. They pay taxes but never claim anything. They work for less then minimum wage, in jobs that no one would want. (If anyone knows who would want a job for minimum or less, working 10 to 12 hours a day. Out in the heat). Just so their kids can get a good education. So they can provide a nice home for their families. There are a few bad apples but they can't spoil the bunch. And as for them breaking the law. Let me know of one person who has never went over the speed limit or has always used a cross walk. Americans break the law because it’s an inconvenience. But of course we condemn them when they come to this country for a better life.
The nerve of some people trying to get what we already have and what we take for granted |

What part of "ILLEGAL" don't you understand? |

The tele does not tell all. But for those Americans (or Brits, or any other nationality) who are not happy with their beautiful country being overrun by economic migrants, it is at least partly because they wish to keep it a beautiful country. |

no one has anything against just immigrants, it's just illegal immigrants hence the "illegal" part. |

Because we are tired of supporting foreigners who come here for a handout. |

I think the question is a bit too broad. I don't dislike immigrants. I just dislike the ones who come to the country and abuse the social systems we put in place to take care of the citizens. |

Only ILLEGAL immigrants. I have no problem with legal ones. |

We are not hateful to foreigners this is a country of immigrants mainly except for Native Americans. But we want people to come here through the correct channels so we know who is here (if they are not criminals or terrorists), that they have no communicable diseases, and that we know where they are going to work and live for the same purposes we know that about our current citizens. Our own ancestors had to do this so we want all to do this. |

I am not American but I can relate to their dislikes...
Could you imagine your country being invaded by all these alien people everyday.... I know they go to USA for work or to provide a better life to their beloved ones but what would you feel if your country becomes saturated by foreigners... |

Because if they are illegal they get our social security, get health care for free but we have to pay for it, take the jobs away. |

that's not true, we like immigrants as long as they are legal. the word you used to describe the telly, sounds English. i hear on the telly here you people are having problems to. and it's nice to know other country's are hearing our business when we don't hear much about the minutemen. immigrants are welcome as long as they come legally. and minutemen are hero's. they are stopping illegals from getting in, they notify the border patrol who stops them. we have a constitutional right to defend our borders as any other country does. |

I personally do not dislike immigrants....those that come here legally are alright with me. However mass illegal immigration puts a strain on our society and makes it less possible to care for our own citizens in need of assistance. I have no issue at all with helping people, and I'm sure many american people will agree with what I'm saying. However there are people in need of help here that need our resources FIRST. |

Do you not understand the Americans are tired of being responsible undocumented, ILLEGAL Immigrants. There is a big difference between illegal & immigrant. They broke the law to a country they don't pay taxes to. |

Few have a problem with immigrants.
Illegal immigrants are the problem. You dont make friends with the citizens of a country by breaking their laws the second you enter. |

god, i want to go and live in j paul gettys beautiful malibu mansion. its so damn beautiful and close to the ocean. its not mine, but damn it, i want it. i'll just go and walk in the front door and eat his food and drive his cars and spend his money. do you get it yet? ITS NOT MINE, NOR IS THIS COUNTRY THEIRS. they have to ask for permission to come in.
now you tell me, einstein, is it right for me to come in and take over someone elses home? your home? your stuff, your food, your car, wife, kids, clothes............................. |

Americans don't dislike foreigners. They dislike illegal aliens being given, free medical care, housing, clothing, when there are Americans who need this stuff. I know there are a lot of "Americans" who just don't care and wouldn't work if they had a job, but they are not the majority.
This country was created to be governed by the majority of the people, but now its minority ruled. |

we have no problem with immigrants, we do not like trespassers. We accept tourists, students, marriages and many other types of people coming to our country. Just as if someone came knocking on your front door in a proper fashion to visit. But illegals are sneaking into our home, we don't know who you are or what you intend to do. Yeah maybe most of you are are only here to work, but how do we know?
illegals should go back to their home, and let the corporations that need cheap labor so badly lobby to allow grater numbers into the country in a proper manner. |

I'm a legal immigrant from England and I have yet to meet someone who has been mean or shown any hatred towards me. So I do think that it wrong to say that Americans in general dislike foreigners. I'm sure that there are some who do, but its like all countries, no 2 people are the same or have the same views. You cannot generalize the views of a whole country. |

Everyone that comes to the U.S has to assimilate to the American culture. Learn English and everything. Since so many different people come to be American-like, Americans don't see the need to try to understand or learn about other cultures. That's my theory. That and a lot of ignorance. |

Americans don't dislike foreigners, in fact it's quite the opposite. Most Americans are interested, even intrigued, by people from other countries. If you ever visit or try to immigrate to the U.S., I assure you of a warm welcome. What you are hearing about in the news media is in reference to millions of people who are sneaking into the country illegally, mostly from Mexico. These illegal aliens are mostly hard working, honest people, but they are putting a strain on our welfare and medical systems. This, combined with the notion that they are taking jobs from citizens and the national security issues that go along with having an estimated 15 million illegals in the country is what people are concerned about. Not foreign visitors or legal immigrants.
P.S. I'm shocked by some of these answers. I'm sorry that allot of these answers didn't represent the truth. I appreciate your interest. |

When you hear Americans complain about immigrants, it usually has to do with the illegal sort. Illegal immigrants from Central America usually. Not only is it wrong to break the law, but many of these people don't even learn our language or culture. They also don't have to pay taxes. They do however, contribute to our economy. Your welcome to come and live here, just do it legally. But try to learn a little English please? |

I don't believe Americans dislke immigrants - I think they dislike illegal immigrants (note - not the PC "undocumented foreign workers...").
Americans are tired of being taxed to support those who want the "free" government handouts - school, health care, etc... without them putting forth the effort to become LEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

I like foreigners and I appreciate them coming to visit. In fact I'm quite the traveller myself. Americans do not like people coming to America illegally and not going back home when their tourist visa expires because they want to use America and leach off our society at the American taxpayers expense. We do have a beautiful country though. And vast too. I agree with that. |

I'm tired of them leeching off our system and I'm tired of *for english, press 1*
If theyre such hard workers, why cant they learn the language of the country they invade? |

Good question. May have something to do with how Americans go to other countries on holiday and parade around like they own it all! |

we do not dislike foreigners,we are just tired of taking care of the worlds poor when their own country and people will do nothing for them,in case you have not noticed we have millions of poor kept enslaved by the democrat/liberal party that refuses to educate these poor Americans and keeps them in servitude for the meager funds provided to them by democrat/liberals so as to force them to continue to vote for the democrat/liberal party instead of educating them to allow them to provide for their families proudly and honestly! |

It's a good job the American Indians didn't put up too much of a fight when you "immigrated" to their beautiful country. |
