i live in aguascalientas mexico and i was born in chicago so i grew up around mexicans
i do not know why but the mexicans in united states ARE WAY different from here they idol us here look up to us as a older sibling yes not everybody but most.i think its bc they think(all the mex. in US) they left mexico all mexicans are very loyal to their country and feel as if they ditched here for somewhere better |

They were taught, in Mexico, that we stole Aztlan and now they feel they have the right to be here. Problem is they were taught erroneous information.
America BOUGHT the southwest US. We did not steal it. I live in CA, not Mexico so they can just "pound sand!" |

What are they stealing? Most of them are working and paying for what they own (houses, land, etc.).

to tell you the honest truth, not only America but other countries are minding other peoples business. In a way America has stolen land that is not ours. America is not the mainland of whites black, or asians. It is the Native Americans, which our president Andrew Johnson drove out. So i personally think that people are taking this immigration thing too seriously. So seriously that we are in fact stereotyping others. I feel that it is right for the natives to ''steal back'' what is theirs. |

Native Americans have had a prescence on the American continent for more than 35,000 years. Surely they have some entitlement as you possibly think Europeans are getting swamped by Muslims or any other Ethnic group.
America did steal half of Mexico during Mexican American War to get gold and other resources. I dont know how Mexicans are stealing from you either, performing the jobs most Whites dont do especially when our society is switching to an Information based workforce where the computer is mightier than the hammer.

Think about it. The 'we' who stole thier land were the Americans who fought and won the Mexican-American war and 'negotiated' the Treaty of Guadilupe-Hidaldgo while surrounding (or was it occupying?) Mexico City. Everyone who did that died of old age a long time ago.
So when a Mexican tells you that you stole his land, what he's really saying is that your ancestors might have been among those who stole his land, and he's judging you by that ancestry.
Judging a people by thier ancestry is racism, pure and simple. |

You stole California,New Mexico,Arizona,Nevada,Utah,Texas, and Colorado just because supposevely "GOD" wanted the U.S.A to stretch from "sea to shiny sea"!!!! You also made us sign the treaty while holding our highest officer (Santa Ana) captive.You also stole land from the Native Americans!!!So technically your in MEXICAN SOIL!!!!!
Also, where would you be without us??Besides if you did send us back to Mexico you Americans wouldn't do anything.You surely can't mow your own lawns,work in construction sites, or make your meals just becuase you guys are too lazy and dont want to do it while getting fatter by the day....and you would want a Mexican to do your job.But if we wouldn't be here......how would you do those things?

who is "us"? I think what is at stake here within your question is a right to property or territory, which most laws protect against. It's not the people which the governing bodies are truly concerned with, it is the wealth and the distribution of that wealth.
Whenever land and territory is taken by force, the indigenous people who are left generally stay and adapt to the new "rulers", or migrate to a portion of the land that they still have proprietary control of. If these indigenous people stay, and try and make a home for themselves, they now subject to new laws, regulations, et cetera. When they start to aquire wealth, or property, it seems as if they are "stealing the land back."
This may or may not be your perception based on whether or not these persons have assimilated into "the American culture," and more importantly learned the english language.
Interestingly enough, the United States does not have a national language. But the majority of it's citizens do speak English. With sub pockets of minority groups in almost every metropolitan and suburban area - your question of immigration issues is now something that is taking place at the State and National government levels.
Just recently, Governor Schwarzenegger was slammed for expressing his belief that Hispanics were not assimilating nearly as fast as other ethnic groups. With some immigrants there may seem to be a disconnect between which country their loyalties lie with.
This fear can be perpetuated to grave extent as has been done by the U.S. Government with concentration camps during World War !!, as well as with the growing concern for where Muslim American's loyalties lie with current issues pertaining to terrorist groups and insurgent populations. |
