freedom of speech as the above poster mentioned is part of the constitution which applies to AMERICANS not a bunch of illegals. illegal is just that ILLEGAL and therefore illegals should have NO RIGHTS. Besides do you see me running down to Mexico and flying the American flag? Oh and just to let you all know I'm not at all anti-immigrant but I am anti-illegal immigrant. I'm tired of MY tax dollars going toward taking better care "illegals" than my own people. I got a letter recently from DSHS telling me that in order to continue receiving my benefits which ironically enough I'm not receiving **** from them as I do not qualify (I make too much money) that I need to provide proof that I'm a US citizen. I was born and raised in the US. I thought that did make me a citizen.

We agree on the same view, but I do not say it in the same way. I believe that their flag should stay in mexico, and if they want to fly the mexican flag, they can go back to mexico and stay there with their flag. If I saw a mexican flag around one of the schools in my state, I would burn it immediately. The ones that are here should be grateful that they made it past my friends on the borders and their rifles. If I had it my way, illegals would be fair game, you come in here, you are invading my home land, and are therefore an enemy (breaking and entering) and therefore are to be shot. I am not racist, if you want in my country, ask permission and go through the legal steps, and leave the other flags in the other countries.

It's pride. You know you would do the same thing if you were rolling your whip around another country. You'd probably even wear an American Flag t-shirt or boxers or something like that. You can't hate people for loving their country...even though they left it.

I think they do it to show they have no intention of assimilating to our country and culture - and why should they? We provide ballots to our American elections in Spanish, there are signs all over Arizona (where I live) in Spanish, and for most jobs now, you have to be bi-lingual. Long ago immigrants (the legal ones) would try to learn the new ways of the new land....not anymore. They want Americans to learn Spanish and cater to their needs so that they are not inconvenienced. I agree, if you love Mexico so much - go back.

Note - I have family members who immigrated from Mexico - legally. They work here and speak English and are making a great life here - it CAN be done!

I think there is a subtle amount of racism in this sort of opinion. What I find is that people often make generalizations, such as some Muslims are radical terrorists therefore all of Islam is bad. Or SOME Mexicans wave the Mexican flag in the US, so all Mexican immigrants are bad. Life is simply better in the US, so that's why they move here and they're probably just trying to keep some of their heritage. My heritage is from Europe. I guarantee my first generation ancestors weren't "as American as apple pie" after they walked off the boat.

What I find troubling is that I don't believe the questioner would have any problem with "white" Europeans coming over to the US, but somehow Mexicans who look darker and speak a different language are somehow vile and unacceptable to obtain citizenship -- or reside in the country "illegally."

The government should spend less on walls and border patrol and spend more money on administrators who can process citizenship requests. The backlog is so terrible it may take 20 years to do it legally. THAT'S WHY THERE ARE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!!! They'd pay their taxes if they were legal, and then we wouldn't be paying out of our pocket for their kids to go to school or to use our public infrastructure.

Bottom-line: sentiments against illegal MEXICAN immigrants is racist.

The fact that we can march in the streets protesting immigration laws means technically we do have the rights guaranteed in the constitution. And that "filthy rag" you refer to as the Mexican Flag is a part of hispanic culture. You can't demand that people abandon their beliefs just because it offends YOU. Who are you to tell others what to do?

Hispanics are the highest minority in the U.S so it makes sense to have the Mexican flag waving from schools. Also people keep saying 'go back home' well I've got news for you, we are home and we're not going anywhere!
