The vast majority of Americans do not fit the profile of which you speak.

But the vast majority of Americans are against illegal immigration, and recognize that 70% of the 20 million illegal aliens in the country are Latino.

Seriously? Our population has boomed out of control w/o immigrants, legal or illegal, but people legally here aren't as big of an issue as they put in instead of just taking. Why is it the US's responsibility to harbor every other country in the world's downtrodden and poor tho'? Same w/ the UK, i understand everyone is told that the US and UK are places of opportunity and freedoms, but in the past 20 years so much has changed that unless you're in the top 10 percentile income-wise it just isnt going to happen, so you are left with 3 million people fighting for the same 6 $ an hour job at wal mart. Why not put the time and effort into making their own countries better instead of running us out of resources? Where will they go when they've drained us so far we are worse off than where they came from? Everyone talks so much crap about the US but are literally trampling each other to get here. Is it all you hoped it would be and more?

Edit: Its got nothing to do w/ race, language, or political party. Its got nothing to do w/ being sheltered or thinking only my culture is right, because if you asked me, we are right up there w/ everyone else in poverty, lack of work, disease, a gov. that couldnt give 2 craps about anyone not making them lots of money . . . anyone denying there is a problem is either rich or still lives w/ mommy in the 'burbs. Americans don't feel threatened by anyone! This is our country and We The People decide who should be here and who shouldn't. We also decide how our tax dollaras are spent. We want to see our laws obeyed, our land, our citizens and our flag respected. We don't want our tax dollars used to pay for handouts and freebies to people who don't deserve them. That is not fear that is just good common sense.

But, many Hispanics and not a few Asians are white. Many, many others are light bright and darn near white. And, many in mainstream white America accept them as coworkers, business partners, and family members.

1.5 M Hispanics and 0.8 M Asians have taken a white spouce. Many others cohabit out of wedlock. Both actions resulting in many mixed children who I expect for the most part will look and identify as white.

This is why the rumours of the end of the white race are overly exaggerated. To the contrary, whiteness is not dying. It is simply broadening what it accepts. America still has an overwhelming light and white majority.

It's very easy to criticize other people for their fears when you are not experiencing them yourself, isn't it?

And then there's Spitzer (whackjob). Who wants to take off the "alien" specification on the driver's licenses! This way, ALL of the illegal immigrants will be able to vote with that license, because the people at the voting booths won't be able to tell their license from that of a legal citizen. And do you know WHY he did this? Because he wants all the illegal immigrants to vote for him.

I also do not appreciate the fact that when I buy a bottle of water, on the reverse side it reads "Splash de naranja!" insead of "Orange splash". Americans speak English. I should not be reading Spanish labels, unless I am in a spanish-speaking country.
