Because it is costing us over 69 Billion to support these illegals and we are only taking in about 15 billion in revenue from them. Not a good trade if you ask me.

Because the illegal aliens ARE stealing jobs and not paying taxes. I know of 4 different people who have lost jobs due to illegal aliens, I have also seen illegal aliens send their kids to school for FREE...Yes, SEVEN Kids to school without paying a cent because they never paid their county taxes on the house they were buying.

What is the big deal? Well, considering that "I" am a tax payer and live by the rules, "I" can say it is a big deal. When you start paying taxes you will feel differently.

Not all Mexicans. Just those who are here ILLEGALLY. Why do people have such a hard time understanding the difference between immigration and illegal immigration? And they hire illegal workers because they don't have to pay them as much, AND they don't pay all the taxes they would have to pay on American workers.

First of all, its about illegal aliens, not legal immigrants. Secondly, illegal aliens come from all countries - its not just Mexicans. Thirdly, some business owners (and I'm mad at them, too), hire illegal aliens because they can pay them less, not because of a better work ethic. Fourthly, terrorism IS an issue Americans are concerned with. Fifthly, terrorists taking advantage of the weak border with Mexico it is not just on tv - ask anyone in the military what's really going on - its not just some primetime propaganda for sweeps week.

you're right, immigration has always been in the US. but when my ancestors came over they had to go through Ellis Island and be granted access. history will also tell you that they also had to have at least $10 in their pocket so they did not become a state charge. then when they did become employed, they had to pay state, federal and local income taxes. the reason people say they are not paying taxes is because a lot of illegals can't get jobs on the books so they are paid cash... therefore not paying any taxes.

then, because they are not on the books anywhere, they are able to apply for and recieve aid through state and federal programs because there is no proof anywhere that they are working (even though they are). And what pays for the food stamps and medicaid. Tax dollars! tax dollars that people being paid cash are not contributing towards.

I find it offensive for you to essentially say that americans are lazy. just because you've worked with a few does not give you the right to put the entire country into one classification. Did you ever stop to think that the reason more employers will hire latinos over americans is because many are here illegal and will work a hell of a lot cheaper than someone who is having taxes taken out of their check every week.

so what it boils down to is, as you say, latinos are such hard workers and a large majority of them are working off the books for cash and then not paying taxes. Making more money than a lot of people who only make minimum wage. And then start collecting the free ride that minimum wage workers are not even eligible for because they are honest and pay taxes.

Maybe these lazy americans you have worked with were simply sick of supporting the masses when they could barely afford to support themselves.

and i will add that it is not only mexicans; it is all illegal immigrants that cause this problem. mexicans simply get the brunt of it because they have easier access to the US.
also, most tax payers (especially the unemployed ones) will agree that the business owners that hire illegals are just as bad. no matter what thier background. because they are also skipping out on paying a whole slew of taxes. Including social security, which by the way is on it's way down the toilet because you don't ever have to pay into it to be able to collect it when you turn 62. not only is this issue hurting people here and now..... what about the people that have paid into this system thier entire life only to be constantly reminded that there probably won't be any money there for them when the time comes.

to dezert: the answer is yes. my husband and i both work full time, raise a family and i do grow my own vegatables, i mow my own lawn and clean up my own sh!t. but without the help of my uncle. because my husband works so many more hours than i do so we can afford to live...... i do these things by myself.

Its not the issue my friend: The issue is that many business are hiring illegal immigrants, and pay them slave wages, they also do not pay the Workman's comp in case the illegal gets hurt, they have to take their chances on getting into an emergency room, and if they can't they have to suffer the pain and sometimes this leads to death. If people came here legally they could be afforded the same rights as any American has. every American is accounted for why shouldn't you be accounted for. most Mexicans who come here are afraid to go against their own corrupt government I know for a fact that if a priest makes any waves against the government of Mexico, they will be killed or tortured to death. I understand why Mexicans are coming to America, but what I don't understand is why don't they fight for their rights as human beings in Mexico. we the American people did during the revolutionary war and the civil war. why should we have to fight your battles whether it be political or monetary, Mexico is a rich country, the only problem I see is the rich keep the money and will not give the citizen a decent living. If the citizens of Mexico killed all the rich people in Mexico they would probably have a good chance of taking care of their selves. and making Mexico a better country

The issue is not about Mexicans or other legal immigrants the issue is the lowering of wages by companies hiring illegal aliens. The companies can pay lower wages because they know that the illegal alien is afraid to go to the authorities.
The agruement for the right of illegal aliens to work in the U.S. is always over simplified by changing the wording or phrases to make those who want control of our borders to sound racist or zenophobic.
All countries should have the right to regulate immigration through it's borders. Even Mexico has it's General Law of Population.
The illegal immigrant population in the U.S. are paying some taxes but they are recieving more benefits than they pay out.
The fault of the lowering wages shouldn't be put on the illegal immigrants but on those who employee them.

i believe the criticism has less to do with which nationality is the superior worker, and more to do with which population is willing to work longer hours for less money. the criticism is, that business owners are hiring illegal immigrants in lieu of american workers. however, the problem is more systemic than just that. the business owners are forced to find cheaper labor to maintain their profit margins, in light of increasing utility costs and staggering healthcare costs. basically, employers will continue to use illegals as cheap labor in order to stay in business. the solution - a single-payer healthcare system; a value added tax adjustment; and international standards of labor practices. these things are not likely.

with regard to the tax argument, if illegals are working under fake social secuirty numbers (which many are), they are actually paying taxes. ironicallly, they are actually paying more taxes because they are unable to receive a tax refund at the end of the year because the social secuirty number is fake. further, they also pay taxes when ever they purchase something with sales tax added, and also pay property taxes either directly, or through a landlord, built into the cost of their rent. so the tax argument isn't that strong.

Personally, I don't care who they let up herein Mexican or Tibetan, its all the same to me. However, to comment on leos.... statement,if it is costing us 69 billion dollars to support the illegals, I would choose them any day, over the trillions of dollars being dumped into the Middle East. Which no American really gives a hoot about cause the average American only cares about whats going on in their backyard. Not millions of nautical miles away from some where we are never going to be. Furthermore, I think we have bigger problems here then to be worried about IMMIGRATION!! what about the violence in both black and white communities and schools. What about education period! Times have changed since the 1770's, that is ancient history, all important, true enough, but whats going on currently and within our more immediate past is more important to maintain a promising future for our kids and our kids' kids. It all needs to be reformed or every generation after us will be lost, and and our country will be divided for another 200 years.

like I heard from some other answers from different questions, White Americans want the high paying jobs, so who is left with the low paying jobs, besides immigrant workers, the uneducated people get the low paying jobs. In Juneau, AK its okay for a non-native to work in the office but not okay for a native to work in a office without working under someone who is non-native. Working in the ware house and delivering news papers are jobs for the non-white people.

We as a nation have spoken more than once on the subject of Illegal Aliens and their presence in our country, as a majority in all major polls the American people expressed their opinions-disgust and outrage over our governments lack of concern.
Estimates set the total of illegals here somewhere between 12-15 million undocumented illegals that occupy our country this is a silent invasion and our government refuses to acknowledge this crisis
Our government has now passed a bill that will award amnesty to these unwanted-breakers of our laws, these people have desecrated our flag,demanded rights that they do not have, taxed and overburdened our hospitals,schools,our American infrastructure. Illegal Aliens have no rights--they are here illegally have no say NOT ONE WORD on how our government or how as Americans we should conduct ourselves on this issue.
Democrats, know all too well that once these illegals are awarded citizenship they will automatically march lock step with the Democrat party the party of handouts-cradle to grave programs that will energize a even bigger population of welfare recipients--all for the almighty VOTE--this legislation will secure the Democrats as the majority for decades to come...
Our so called Republican party in which I have invested many year's, a president who I believed in who I backed 100 percent has now turned their backs on us. I believe everyone deserves a chance to be an American if they chose to, however, they should be loyal to America, learn her language and BE an AMERICAN, Not a Mexican living in America, or where ever they come from. As President Roosevelt said 100 years ago..."In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. i believe there is always a reason why you would want to leave your home to come here but its the same reason we dont need it .inflation........ prices go up to make up for what is being spent to put illegals in homes ,buy the food , pay unpayed medical.good god look at the prices today look again next week if it dont stop.
