totally agreed. I've been laid off for 10 weeks now and we're in trouble but they are working. A major company in our town (fairly large) is closing down after many years to outsource (another country to save money) and over 300 MORE people are going to lose their jobs. We have hospitals that can't turn down anyone (which is good) but people in our hospitals are losing their jobs because they aren't getting paid. I wish the best for you....I am not "against" them -- and I understand why they left (we are in Florida and have more people from Mexico/Cuba and they all are doing well). We're NOT doing well. You aren't alone.

the only reason i can think of how they could get cars like that is that one, there hard working AMERICANS that are of another ethnicity then your own. or they might be selling some kind of drug paraphernalia/illegal conduct.

I lost a job opportunity because a table full of mexicans, and the owner was sittn' there helping them fill out the applications, at least I can fill out my own app.,and had 12 years exp. but, that's the city I live In. hmmm, aren't we having a water shortage too???

No taxes, free medical, free education, welfare, food subsidies, free legal representation, no car insurance, fake indentification, collection agencies can't track them down, IRS doesn't know which name belongs on the Social Security number, section 8 housing, usually able to collect numerous benefits from various states using legal documents obtained by owning different Social Security numbers (ie., unemployment insurance benefits), various government grants, bleeding heart give-aways, and last but not least the ACLU.

There are two types of illegals: the border crossers and the overstayers.

The crossers are usually poor Mexicans, whereas the overstayers come from various countries and some can be quite rich (white collar jobs).

If you are sure that they are illegal then call ICE (the INS) and have them deported, i hear all assets stay with us (they cannot take it back home)

The government isn't really trying to end the illegal problem in the USA.

The problem you are talking about is not hard to fix! ( excluded the fake document) If the govt makes the law on buying car and house with proper ID and document, illegals won't be able to own those expensive items.

I am opposed to illegal immigration but I have to disagree with you on this one.

Most illegal immigrants don't have it better than you or me. I have worked closely with a lot of immigrant workers legal and illegal. Generally they are very frugal and send the majority of their money home. Many live in very low quality housing and many do not have cars at all. Those people that you see (assuming they are illegal) are probably hugely in debt and have no intention of paying it off. I was working for a company this summer that hired LEGAL immigrant workers (meaning they had visas to work for that company only), who had had a couple of them run off illegally, they left behind them thousands of dollars in medical bills that they had no intention of paying.

Anyway I think you are mistaken, there may be a few exceptions but by and large immigrants a whole live a prety pathetic existance.

Sounds like you need to increase your job skills.

Call 272-5900 ... it's the Hillsborough InfoLine. Ask them if there is a vocational training program in your area.

Also, you might ask your son's aunt and uncle what they do for a living and then do the same thing.

Or maybe open a daycare at your house? Probably will make more than minimum wage and you wont have to pay someone to watch your kids.

you must be dreaming. illegals do not have nice things such as the ones you stated. most of them are trying to work just to survive while remaining undetected. such flashy lifestyles would only attract attention to their illegality.

How do you know they are illegal? They have signs advertising the fact?

A lot of those new cars, homes, etc., are likely obtained with money acquired illegally--selling drugs, fake id cards, etc., so don't be too jealous!

IF this post is true, may I urge you to go back to school? If you are a single mother to 2 young children, you should be able to qualify for grants that would make this a good move for you. Even with a 2 year degree you could be making enough to secure a decent future for yourself and your children.

If you are opposed to that, I urge you to join them in the fields- pick tobacco, fruit, work on a farm. Surely, if someone is employing them, they will gladly employ a native English speaker. Then, you can have the same things they have.....

Personally, I believe that God evens all things out. Or, you can call it kharma, I have been blessed with food and home and a healthy family... That makes me far more lucky than MANY on this planet. I don't care if my neighbors piece of metal that moves from one place to another has a BMW sticker on it, or, that mine has a Honda.... Either way, I can get where I need to go. Trust in God and appreciate every item you have been given.

Because they found higher paying jobs than you. Some of these are not very pleasant jobs. Do you work indoors in an air conditioned office? Do you want to get a job working construction or agriculture, in the sun, and being sprayed with pesticides that may or may not be toxic?
