The USA is a sovereign nation that has the right and duty to control its borders and to enforce its immigration policies. Those who disagree with that statement, and their are many of these people at Y/A, are either grossly ignorant, or traitors to their country. We will defeat any attempt at amnesty for illegals, as we are patriots who demand that our govt enforce our nation's immigration laws.

I you have a problem with "being technical", countries enforcing their laws, and this sort of thing, you need to move to a remote island somewhere.
THIS IS THE YEAR 2008.
ALL countries have the right to have immigration laws and the absolute necessity to enforce their borders. It has nothing to do with color of anybody's skin. It has to do with FOLLOWING THE LAW.

If things had been different you might be right. But they aren't: we are Americans and have a government. If the British won, or the French started war and won, we'd be under their rule and their rules. However, our country is about as "free" as one can get. but to chuck citicizenship is a large step towards anarchy, which is a very big step towards being overtaken by anyone with guns. We have to have rules and laws. No nation has survived long with out a uniform law system that the mojority of the people recognize as supreme and a government that the majority of the people recognize as sovereign.
To answer your question on why people care: they are a drain on the economy and have changed the culture of America for the worse. I'm not talking about the jobs that "no-one wanted". That's alwyas been there. What I am talking about is the rediculous amount of money that is spent every year that can be traced back to illegal residents, many of which are not paying full taxes.
We have laws.
The real gripe shouldn't be "why don't we open our arms to them?", but "why doesn't Mexico make it worth while for them to stay?" That is where the pressure should be and it is not. |

Even the Native Americans migrated here hundreds of years ago and they didn't have any pre-existing laws set in place like we do now.

EDIT: English is the primary language of this country. You either respect the laws of the land and policy of our nation, or you get out.
When I see a light skinned individual I don't think about whether or not he or she is illegal, and the same goes for dark skinned individuals. You're making a very ignorant generalization and you clearly don't know much about immigration and you appear unwilling to see the big picture.

Well by your way of thinking why do people care if murderers or thieves are running the streets. I mean them committing a crime is just a technicality right? C'mon,people kill others in war so why are we so tough on murderers?

Because most of care if laws get broken or not. Most of us care if legal immigrants have their opportunities taken away by law breakers. Most of us care that disease is being brought into our country by unscreened illegal aliens. Most of us care that criminals sneak over our borders rather than undergo a background check. Most of us care to enforce our sovereignty and our laws. |

put the crack pipe down.... the constitution is meant to provide all men and women as citizens of the U.S. are treated equal, not everyone from anywhere in the world. Though we try to treat others equally, as in humanely, that does not mean open our tax money to anyone and everyone because they do not understand what sovereignty is.
We own this country and we make the laws. Be legal and obey them and you will be treated equally. I, personally, have no problem with legals trying to improve themselves. However, they need to do what is necessary to assimulate if they wish to stay. I have seen more claims of racism on the illegal argument and I honestly do not believe you all understand what the term means or when it should be applied. Denying illegals rights is not racism. It is our right to a secure, safe and economically prosperous country. I dont care what history you pull out of your behind, it is now irrelevant as are your arguments of racism. |

If you do not understand the basic concept of law then you need to sue the school and teachers who taught you. Illegals cost 70 billion dollars per year....legal immigrants? not so much.
There are 500,000 illegals in US prisons...add some more billions for their care.

We continually hear that we are all immigrants since we, or our ancesters came here from another country. We hear how these immigrants made America and realized the American dream. This is true. Of course at the time much of the immigration took place (abt.1850-early 1900s) the USA was not a settled country with the huge population we now have. The people who came pioneered and helped make this great country!
Yes, we should treat all people equally and all people should have equal opportunity to pursue the good life. By the way, the constitution was written for the United States of America and the CITIZENS of this country. (But I'm sure you know that!)
I don't think we have anything against immigrants who have every right to come to the USA if they do so legally. It's just the illegal immigrants that bother us. They are not contributing to American Society. We don't want to have a country that is divided with a portion of it belonging to those who are not citizens.
As we all know, America is in financial trouble. We are spending so much on illegals and there isn't money left over to take care of our own needy citizens. We hear that Medicare, Medicade, Social Security and other programs will just run out of money.
We need to take care of our own people before we try to take care of the unfortunates of the world.
