I worked at a car wash, almost all the illegals falsely claimed the maximum dependents, they got almost no money taken out of their checks.

Lets clarify a few things. Illegals are a drain on our economy, with so many here, so many on social security/welfare, so many dealing drugs and just popping out kids for a monthly check. Go to texas sometime and talk to someone who's tried to apply for disability for a legit claim and been denied over and over again, but an illegal walks in with nothing really wrong with them and gets it almost the same day. Oh and many of them don't pay taxes because they don't have taxable incomes... ever heard of day laborers? Anyone in south Florida can tell you all about them. Or.... you get one legal immigrant who gets a 2 bedroom apartment and then has 8 illegals live with them, and collects welfare on all of them... who do you think pays for this? America may be the land of the free, but just because you're here doesn't mean you deserve to reap the benefits of that statement. If you want the benefits of an American, then become a legal resident like so many others have done, and you will.

The first one is from MSNBC - you can disregard anything from this "news" organization as being either dishonest or incompetent, as they struggle between the two. It makes an error in the very first sentence where it claims that illegals have no hope of drawing a social security check. Your second link surmises that Las Vegas suffers when illegals disappear from the economy. Indeed, Las Vegas may suffer, but many other cities benefit when illegals disappear. Do you think Texas might be better off without some 90+ illegals on death row for the murder of Americans? How did Arizona go from having one of the lowest violent crime rates to one of the highest over the last twenty-odd years, as illegals washed over it on their way north? Why are California hospitals going into bankruptcy as illegals without insurance flood the emergency rooms? For that matter, how do you explain the fleeing of white-color workers from California to other states as they find themselves crushed by taxes to pay for welfare, remedial education, prison space, and healthcare for illegals? It's not as if there aren't statistics showing these effects. You can ignore them by picking and choosing your supporting evidence if you like, but that doesn't change the facts.

Your third link (this is one of my favorites) is to a group of IMMIGRATION LAWYERS!? Do you really expect them to be objective? Either you are naive, or you think we are stupid. Which is it?

Your fourth link is to an article written by Pierre Tristam. You should read his blog to realize what an absolute kook he is. Some people live on the fringe. Congratulations for finding one.

Wishful thinking isn't an argument. It is hard not to have sympathy for some illegals. Some of them are nice people and only want to work and mind their own business. However, they are a burden by virtue of their lack of skills and their dependency on the "freebies" that the rest of us pay for. They are not doing jobs that Americans won't do as in your Las Vegas article. Construction is the largest industry in America, and there is no shortage of Americans to do this work when contractors are being honest about paying the workers and paying the payroll taxes. Why do you think they hire illegals over Americans? It isn't because the illegals charge a lower wage - it is because cash is cheaper than what the law requires in insurance and payroll taxes when wages are documented.

Every illegal is a petty criminal, but there are thousands of felons who accompany the hard working petty criminals. How do you put a price on the effects of the drug trade? We have enough criminals. We don't need to import new and exceedingly violent ones.

Here's a question for you: Why don't the people of Mexico rise up against the corrupt government and overthrow it to improve their lot? They have done it before and seem to think it was a grand success. Maybe it's time for another Mexican revolution, but that would require a courage not necessary when stealing from Americans is so much easier.

The illegals that I know don't make enough to offset their medical expenses and send money back home which drains our economy.
Go to any hospital or jail in California and look around. Not very many white faces but plenty of hispanics. Maybe I should take a pole and ask how many of them have health care through their jobs?
Now that we have the bases covered how about the real question? Why will Americans not stand idly by and allow Mexico to slowly invade us? The answer is because they can't solve their own country's problems and we have enough of our own to allow them to bring us more. If they wouldn't break our laws and then demmand the same rights that American Citizens have we may have a diferent outlook. By the way, stop trying to teach US spanish and learn English. We were here first.

Our local county hospital billed Mexico a few years back as a gesture because nearly all their costs were generated by Mexicans. Thats not to say that legal immigrants are not entitled to use facilities because they are but legal immigrants are required to be self supporting , that is part of the deal so go figure! I am sure there is a whole slew of fine contributing legal Mexicans who are warmly welcomed by all, infact I know so and I love them all. Great hardworking , friendly , family loving people and the same for any immigrants who are that way. Got not one thing against them, but we all know that if you earn a pittance , you don't actually pay taxes and you most certainly don't if you are illegal. Put that against using all the free stuff and what small amount of spending they do, then I am afraid the deficit makes them takers. Its all about ratio.

Sure they do a lot of work Americans don't do and we would miss it. But only because its cheap which brings me to the hard facts. There are some economically sound countries that don't have immigrants but they pay their locals to these jobs so they can afford to live. The minimum wage in the USA has remained virtually unchanged for years. Why? Because they don't have to raise it because Mexicans will work for it and so this prices Americans or what ever you want to call them out of the market, who whilst its not right or wrong, only cultural don't want to live 12 or 13 to a house and so cannot do these jobs everyone is talking about and they shouldn't have to.This is not good for any economy to keep the minimum wage so low. This is well illustrated in other countries who still have menial labour that needs doing but don't have thousands of Mexicans to do it. They are not panicking and sending a boat over to collect Mexicans.

Anyone remember a while back in Dallas, the Mexicans boycotting work and stores as a protest for their treatment for one day to show us what an economical kick in the nuts that would be. Does anyone remember how it that actually did pan out economically-No? I didn't think so. It all fizzled out and we never heard what happened. Anyone know why? I do. I had to wade through the internet to find out because our media is a little bias and didn't report it. What actually happened is what was lost in retail was gained back in a reduction of shop lifting. How embarrassing. No wonder they went so quiet!

On a personal note I couldn't give a flying toss about what colour or nationality anyone is but I do care that they abide by the rules or laws of the land they live in, are self supporting and speak some of the native languge and I can have a reasonably friendly relationship with them.Not just in the US but in any country they want to live in.

We could bang on and on about what people used to live where and what bit of what country belonged to what people way back when , But, frankly if you had your butt kicked out or lost a land in war then tough, its a done deal and that country now belongs to them. Fair? Probably not but thats just the way it is. If its not legally your country then tough.

I say all this is a naturalized US citizen, who pays large amounts of tax , pays for my healthcare, speaks the lingo and has never had so much as a parking ticket and is frequently reminded by my patriotic buddies that my country had its **** kicked by the US. True? Partly, but one thing is for sure , when I first moved here, it was not my country anymore and I got on with the business of abiding by their rules because they don't owe me a damn thing.

By entering a country illegally they are braking the law, that makes them a criminal, that was their choice to become a criminal and nobody wants criminals from another country coming into theirs, so no matter how much you are trying to defend them criminals cost tax payers money to be brought to justice, so I think you and your buddy's should think harder before you opt into a life of crime.

well the long and short,,most do take without giving. in Atl. they pay 40.00 for a fake SS card up to $4,000 for a fake green card with laser logo. i know from personal exp.a feller i painted with had his appendix removed at a cost of over $17.000 and laughed when he said he didn't have to pay it to quote" i don't have to i'm illegal it won't hurt my credit" guess our taxes paid that one. they take advantage of the system by having babies here thereby getting welfare, food stamps, etc.

By being here with no ability to get medicaid, they usually end up taxing the time and monies of a hospital Emergency Room where care cannot be denied and with no legal address, try to bill them. The otherthing that has occured is one legal immigrant lends a access card to the person of similar name and sends them to the ER. There is no ID asked for most places other than the card and the state pays for it. Some places are asking for driver licenses now with picture ID. The picture ID can also be forged and driver license centers have been broken into and robbed. Does this answer your questions?

Unfortunately the majority of undocumented immigrants are hispanic, but there are also illegal Asians, East Europeans including Italians, Africans. The Government say that this nation's borders are secured but more multinational undocumented immigrants keep coming in the country with (tourist visa) and without inspection by the USCIS.
All those people that complain about undocumented immigrants would have to be in these peoples' shoes to understand the reasons why you leave your country sometimes being a dentist and having to come to the US to work flipping burgers, but it's ok because you are working, you are producing and then consuming.
Before having the nerve to say: why don't Mexicans throw their President out of office and reform their Govenrment, those who point their fingers at undocumented immigrants, should ask the IRS why on earth would they give undocumented immigrants the opportunity to file income taxes through by obtaining an ITIN number from them? So...the USCIS (Federal Agency) says: NO! go back to your country and the IRS (Federal Agency) says: HI! here's your ITIN number, file taxes now??? What is going on with this?

Man my dad worked at a chicken plant for his whole life. Around the time I turned 18 (7 months ago) they start really enforcing I.D. checks and that's when the economy started failing. I think what happened is that since the illegals couldn't find work they couldn't get a house so the housing market got all ****** up. everyone is saying that the relaxed house loans is what started this. I personally think that the immigrants are keeping the economy above water right now.
