Because, the media makes people think you are taking jobs from us. They are trying to distract us from the larger issues that are the real reasons why our economy is self destructing. It has nothing to do with Mexicans or Asians or any other foreigners, immigrants, green card holders etc. This country is being run by criminals that are using the middle class to run up huge bills to make the wealthy and the corporations richer. No jobs here because your job has gone to China or India, or other third world countries. Mexico isn't one of those countries by the way. I could go on and on but the way things are going here there wont be a middle class and we will all be living in cardboard shacks. They will grant the Chinese huge immigration quotas and they will be living in our homes and the former people who hated the Mexicans will actually be doing the work that they wouldn't have done before and left to the Mexicans (and others). Maybe then they will be right; the Mexicans will be taking jobs from them. |

Mexicans, in general, are not hated at all. When I travel south of the border, they tend to be a lively, and friendly people. The one's in the US tend to be good family people, and hard working.
I do have a HUGE problem with illegal aliens protesting the US on the US soil, waving a Mexican flag. I hope you understand why. |

Those are two different questions. People hate illegal immigrants and the majority of illegal immigrants happen to be Mexican. That doesn't mean that all Mexicans are hated.
For instance...people hate mass murderers too...and the majority happen to be men. That doesn't necessarily equate that thus everyone hates men.
Our dislike for illegal aliens isn't about race any more than our abhorrence towards mass murderers is about gender. |

I don't hate anyone. Whoever is not from the
USA and planning on living here should get a
green card. That is what I am saying but it
sure doesn't mean I hate any of them.
Edit-
And to the thumbs down person- why do you
think you should be entitled to all these benefits
and not have a green card? It is not right to
us American citizens. They call it Racist, I
call it Americans fighting for their rights.
Why are people so worried about it though,
from the looks of who seems to be on top,
they will be able to stay anyway. I fear for

The most illegal immigrants in The USA are of Mexican origin. The problem is not that they come here to work, its that they work under the table, paying no taxes, yet using health care and educational services, once they have a baby in the USA the baby is a citizen and they have the " right" to stay but seldom apply for citizenship and therefore put a burden on the economy. there are millions of them in the US today, all of them using services but not paying taxes to support the services they use..... its unfair. Nobody hates them, we just want them to do the right thing and pay their fair share. I personally think there should be an amnesty program in which they get citizenship after serving two years in our armed forces. |

Do some math and figure out where MOST (not all) of the illegal population comes from. I can tell you we watch for, and deport illegals from ALL countries. I am a CBP Officer believe me, I have personally done it. But when 85% (rough estimate) of the illegal population comes from one area of the world, obviously it will get the most attention. |

I think that Mexicans are great people but should not come to America illegally. I have an idea, let any illegal Mexican who wants to stay in America sign-up for a tour of duty in Iraq. When they complete their tour of duty we would grant them citizenship. |

I don't hate Mexicans, I hate illegal immigrants -they are criminals! Unfortunately for legal immigrants of Mexican decent, most of the illegals are Mexican. I think that the legal Mexican immigrants need to hate illegal immigration more than anyone, as it gives them a bad name.
I'm all for legal immigration, and think it should be encouraged. That's how my ancestors got here - by following the rules. |

I'm not voicing an opinion either way, but as to why its always the Mexicans being pointed out in terms of illegal immigration - that would be because they make up the biggest percentage of not only illegal immigrants in the U.S., but also the total number of immigrants period, legal and illegal. In the states of California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas, they don't even count as a minority under federal law so if you're working on a government contract, Mexicans can't fill your minority quota.

I don't hate Mexicans in general. I have respect for Mexicans who do come to our country legally and the right way. I do hate illegal immigration, however. No, illegal immigration should not solely be pointed solely on Mexicans, but it is mostly Mexicans who do so. |

Just two quick points.
1.) To whoever said they are the only ones who desecrate our flag... Dude?
2.) To whoever said that like Mexicans but don't like people who would rather violate laws than improve their own countries. Dude? First settlements in the U.S., to escape persecution in England? Umm...
You can dislike illegal immigration, and dislike the fact that many illegals are criminals and all, but... They are risking their lives for the American dream. They are RISKING THEIR LIVES to be in your country, that is how much they actually want to be a part of this country, and all they get is verbal p1ss. Not cool. And if unemployment is the #1 reason for criminal activity, at least give the criminals credit for looking for jobs and getting out of their countries, which have up to 40% unemployment.
One more point. Just the fact that there's hate towards "Mexicans" and that all this talk revolves around Mexicans is so interesting, since about 1/4 of the illegal immigrants entering through the Mexican border are not Mexicans but Central Americans (El Salvadorians, Guatemalans, Hondurans).
