IF they are getting paid a pay check and are "here illegally" then they are using someone else Tax ID, which is illegal as well. Yes they do pay taxes on regular purchases, just like the rest of us. It is the work that they do where they get paid lower wages, usually under the table, and don't pay taxes on that gets people upset.

To report earnings for an employee you need a Tax ID which an illegal immigrant would have a hard time getting.

Yes they pay taxes on purchases just like me but when they are hired by yee old crooked company owner for under the table(and the min. wage) pay they do not pay income taxes. I know some of the illegals have fake social security cards so it is possible to tax them but do you honestly believe that they show an accurate withholding on their W-4. I doubt it. Why would they do that by the rules they have shown their disregard for rules by entering the US illegally already. Why do people insist that they are paying taxes? If you have ever had a job didn't you have to provide a ssn to get it? Our taxes are tracked by that 9 digit number so prove that they are paying their taxes.

What you failed to mention was that Knight Ridder and the Charlotte Observer found that most illegal immigrants are using fake social security card numbers to obtain employment.

One internal study found that a restaurant company had submitted 4,100 duplicate Social Security numbers for workers. Other firms submit inaccurate names or numbers for nearly all their employees. One child's Social Security number was used 742 times by workers in 42 states.

"We believe the chief cause of [unmatched] wage items ... is unauthorized work by non citizens," Social Security Inspector General Patrick O'Carroll told Congress in February.

On the news this morning a politician from Utah verified that ,in Utah, after Social Security provided data for one criminal inquiry, investigators discovered that the Social Security numbers of 2,000 children were being used by other people.

Also a little known fact is that many parents never even know their child's social security number has been stolen until the child applies to for credit , goes to work or applies to college. By then their credit rating and work history can be screwed.

They may pay sales tax on purchases they make, but they don't pay income taxes. Because they are not paying income tax, they are not contributing to the entitlements they receive... healthcare, education, welfare, etc.

Besides... it's not about the taxes. It's about following rules and obeying the law. Why should illegal immigrants get a free pass and get rewarded for breaking the law when there are plenty of decent and honest people out there who are following the rules and obeying the law to immigrate to this country legally?

Since when do we get to decide which laws we should follow and which ones we should not? If we disagree with the law, then let's get it changed... let's not just simply disobey it and expect to be rewarded.

You are missing the larger point. If someone is here illegally and they are paying payroll taxes, they are using a STOLEN or non-existant social security number. Suppose it is stolen. Suppose it is YOUR number they are using. Plain and simple, your *** is grass when it comes tax time.

Those sales and property taxes are state not federal so they don't count towards all the social services that the illegal immigrants get. As for those illegal aliens with social security numbers(which if they are illegal then the number belongs to someone else, come say "identity theft"), they fill out their W-2s with 7,8,9, or more dependents so that very little is taken out for federal income taxes. Then at the end of the year the either don not file or file to receive the earned income credit. Also a large portion of their money is sent back to Mexico were the USA can not tax it.

I agree with you for the most part that immigrants have been contributing to the payroll tax base. However, a big problem that the current situation is perpetuating is the gigantic flow of money from the U.S. to Mexico. That is a very large loss of potential sales tax revenue.

If memory serves, money flowing from the U.S. is Mexico's 2nd largest industry. That tells me that Mexico's economy....shall we say....chupa.

Its common sense that immagrants pay income taxes on purchased items. It's when they open a business that they are given a tax releif for up to 3 years.
