For the most part, immigrants (legal) are treated as well as citizens.
Illegal aliens are treated as criminals. That's what they are. No matter what excuse they use for ignoring and violating federal law, they are violating federal law. We don't like criminals. |

In fact the United States tries give me things I didn't even earn just because I am Not White or Bilingual or an Immigrant or just cause they want to use me as a political puppet of statistics! Why do we treat rapists, child molesters, murderers, etc. so poorly? They are criminals just like the person who enters the US illegally. We have a tendency to group like people(such as criminals) together. legal immigrants are treated like anyone else (except my wife who I treat better). |

I have never seen an immigrant treated poorly. I actually think they have it pretty good. An ILLEGAL immigrant comes here and gives birth that kids a citizen, the pregnant mother doesn't have to pay healthcare, they receive free medical treatment, free schooling, free room and board(depending where you live)free education, and in some cases even pay lower tuition for college then U.S. citizen. I must be missing something, how are they being treated poorly again? I think they have it pretty good and are abusing America's good grace |

Gee, I don't know, perhaps I should have asked one of my two legal immigrant college professors that questions.
Of course they probably would have been confused since they love America and the opportunities they found here.
Neither one can understand why illegals think they have the right to demand anything and then wonder why people don't like them. |

not all people treat immigrants poorly ...some probably get treated poorly because they have not assimilated or even try to assimilate to our customs. some come from poor and uneducated families hence the bad they bring to this country. |

(tonight...leave your front door to your house unlocked and open... and "if" anyone is found asleep on the couch in the morning...make "them" some breakfast and then see if that have "others" in their family that need breakfast too... then see what you think of "Illegal" immigration)... Our Sovereign Borders to America are our "Front Doors"... If someone comes to my house, "they" knock and I greet them... If I don't want them on my property, I ask them to leave...if not I have the Right to have them removed... (what do you do at your house...?) |

I think that for every person that answered that you only treat the illegal ones badly are all full of it... How do you know if they are here legally or not? Do you ask for their SS card or green card? The answer is - NO... You assume who you think is here legally or illegally and you treat them accordingly... They (immigrants to this country - both legal and illegal) are all in search of the American dream, where the streets are paved with gold and everyone has an opportunity for success, unfortunately for them - that is a reality that NO longer exists! |

illegal immigrants are not treated poorly. they receive free education for their kids, if they are sick, they go to the hospital and the tax payers pay for them. They can get welfare without even being citizens. Your question should be, why are Americans, who pay taxes have to pay for people who do not belong here? |

I do not treat legal immigrants poorly at all. Illegal Aliens are criminals and fair game for any person who has taken the oath to uphold the constitution and the laws derived from it. I make those peoples lives hell on earth if I have proof positive they are illegal. Unfortunately for those of Latin descent I was raised in Southern New Mexico and speak fluent Spanish. They often brag about being illegal in front of me. Darn stupid fools to think an Anglo no speak DE Espanole. LOL off to deportation they go. Local cops objected to citizens arrest only once. The Federal Judge explained who they work for......US Citizens not a bunch of Illegal Aliens. |

It is FEAR and they don't understand the culture differences. They are not very educated on other cultures. They do not realize that must ppl would really like to stay in their "own" country but, come here for a better life.
Too many "Americans" believe that they want everything for free. That is so not true. yes, there are some immigrants who do take advantage of the system, but so many more work and never claim taxes. They pay them in and never see that money again.
I really think it is too many different reasons, I will start with FEAR. |

As a legal immigrant in England I can say I get treated very poorly. I've been taunted for my nationality, 911, foreign policy (As if I have the power to change American foreign policy. Sheesh.), negative stereotypes and received scandalously poor medical treatment and was rudely insulted by the doctor to boot. My neighbor tried to run my dog and I over with their car when I was walking on the pavement. I got the message. I wasn't welcome. Don't even ask about the apathetic police.
I would never live here, but my husband is British. He didn't realize there were so many BNP Nazis in England and those freaks hate anyone who is not British and white. I'm merely white.
I'm sure it must be because I'm a nice, intelligent, sensible and courteous American. They hate those.

he has never been treated unfair,hell my family even changed
the name to suit Americans.and its been much easier for us
as far as illegals are concerned they are not being treated

Because some people feel better about themselves when they put someone else. They need to feel superior to someone else. If not the illegals then the Blacks or Asians or whatever else they can come up wioth. People need to open their minds and hearts and be more concerned about their fellow human beings.
