I am a white american and I don't hate immigrants at all. Cheap lawn care. Just kidding. I mow my own lawn and if i did hire someone to do it i would pay them the same if they were american or white or latino or whatever. really. It's a phase. Like the Irish in the early 20th century. It will pass with time as people get used to it. I like latinos personally. And yes you would probably classify me as rich. |

I actually believe that if there was a way for Mexicans to come to the USA legally, then they would. Mexico will not grant any visa to come to the USA Legally to any Mexican unless they have a certain quantity of cash in the bank and they need to have at least a business under their name and own a house. All this proof is needed. Then after that there is still a waiting list. Most people that come are very hungry and desperate. They don't have much of a choice. I know it is wrong to do this but if anyone were in their position they would do the same. It would be very hard for any healthy economically well citizen to understand that kind of life.
Now this said, I think not all illegals come taking labor that white people do not like. It is possible that white people of course and as always NOT ALL but most white have many more opportunities there for no necessity to work hard labor. Mexicans are just used to working extra hard and leave education for it, it is necessary. Most white on the other hand have the opportunity and go to school so they do not have to work hard labor. Who here likes hard back aching labor? I love to work but not to the point of killing my self like some roofers. But some people can take that kind of work. So it is not about ALL of one category it is about the Majority or Most of them. I think an issue here is stereotyping.
FYI I am a Mexican American, My mother came here with a visa legally and I was born, my daughter was also born here. We are all legal here but of Mexican decent just like ALL white are here legally but of some other decent White people are not natives here in the USA like the American Indians are. All white and Mexican and other races not American Indians. They are Immigrants from other parts of the world. Off course except Black or African Americans which came here by force not choice.
We are all immigrants at the end NO white man is native to this country they all sailed from Europe mostly. I personally have not seen an
American Indian all my life, Hope they weren't all killed off by White Man....hee hee just kidding you guys.....

I don't hate immigrants, but I dislike ILLEGAL immigrants.
And they do take jobs away from citizens. For every illegal immigrant doing jobs under the table for a landscaping company, he's taking away a job from a legal citizen. If you want to come to America LEGALLY, you are welcome to do so. But do not behave like a criminal and expect to be treated like a citizen with full rights. That doesn't swing with us. |

Ok, I have never hated mexicans or immigrants. I just have problems with illegal immigrants. I was married to a legal mexican born in California. I used to visit Mexico regularly. Since my last name was Gonzalez they expected me to know the language. I didn't begin to know spanish, my husband barely did. I was only there from 3 to 7 days. I was a visitor. If I was there to make a living and be a permanant resident I could see why they would expect me to know the language.
That's the biggest thing I have against Mexicans coming to the U.S. They don't begin to know the english language and think we should all learn spanish. If you're coming to the U.S. to live permanantly, you should at the least learn our language. That is what irriatates me the most about immigrants and also the point that they carry the mexican flag and say they want to be Americans. Sorry , give up Mexico and become Americans and let your home country go and be true Americans. Don't say you're an American and carry a mexican flag. That's just stupid. |

I don't care for or have sympathy for illegal aliens. If they were truly concerned with their family's' well being, they would wait in line and do it legally like the rest of the legal tax paying citizens of America. Then they would truly have a better life. They would be legal and be legally entitled to all America has to offer. Everyone else patiently waited their turn...as can they. |

Most of us don't like law breakers period, no matter who they are. We have rules in this country and they are being broken by so many, millions of illegals sneaking through. They aren't just from Mexico they are from other countries too. A lot of felons, drug smugglers, and terrorists are getting through by way of Mexico because we have weak links there and the world knows it. They come over here get fake Id's and we don't know who is here not even their real names, now that can't be safe for our country. Most Americans are very concerned about it. These people also come here and it puts an enormous drain on public funds. We cannot provide high quality education, health care, and retirement security for our own people if we continue to allow this...

The minimum wage in Mexico is equal to about 4.00 an hour thats not really that far behind what it is here, plus the cost of living in Mexico is a lot cheaper.
Living in America isnt that easy either. We have lot of poor folks in our own country that need help. Some folks are barely making it...
Some rich folks do like the illegals, just look at some that work for our government....

Americans like immigrants. We dont like illegal immigrants! There is a huge difference between the two. The illegal immigrants are a burden to every american and legal immigrant. They cause higher taxes and insurance premiums. Thats not to mention the overcrowding in the prisons. I believe the national average is about 35% illegals in jail. |

It isn't just the rich. The middle class that strains to make ends meet and wonders how they can ever retire with Social Security on the rocks pays the taxes that subsidize school for poor people. That is why we, like every country that subsidizes services, have to limit the number of poor people we allow to come. It is a great deal for the poor immigrants, so the line is long. That doesn't make it OK to come steal services we pay for and strain them to the point where our own children's education and health care is degraded.
