Illegal immigration is killing America. If someone wants to live and work in the U.S. then become a citizen, I have no problem with that, but as it stands now they are dragging down our economy. Illegal immigrants feed off our tax dollars, and increase the homeless rate in the u.s. and if you think that it's good that they are doing the jobs no body else wants then i guess you also think that they are sending all the money they make up here back down to Mexico just putting us in a bigger economic hole.

I say enforce our laws and if these people that have used these illegals lose their businesses then that is justice. Then there is the foreign counties that not only gets rid of it's poverty driven people, but then gets remittances that keep the elite and wealthy in place. Last but not least there is Mexico that has over 50 Mexican Consulars in the USA to protect and serve the interest of those Mexicans who are here both illlgally and llgally, now why do you think they have more concern for their citzens in the USA than in Mexico, very simply they are colizing us one illigal at a time

Several reasons.

1. Where the United Farm Workers doesn't work, the growers will use poison on their crops without telling the illegal alien workers that they are doing so. So growers do it their way and ignore OSHA Laws and that is a lot cheaper for the grower.

2. Illegal aliens are usually paid significantly less than a living wage. Cheaper for the employers and by two in many cases.

3. If you hire an illegal alien without putting him on the books, it is much easier to deal with him. No tax forms to fill out.. no reports.. no paperwork. And they don't know better so you can spray them while they are picking the crops.

Remove the illegal aliens from our work force in the fields and you will save about $4.00 a month on your veggies. On processed meat, you don't really save anything and if any of those workers have TB, or one of a dozen other highly communicable diseases, you get a free disease.

But while the illegal aliens are working in this country, they are also eligible for welfare. And they collect a great, great deal of welfare. The effect is the American Tax payer pays the wages the employers should be paying, and they are paying it to illegal aliens.

Whoops... I forgot to mention.. those same growers are frequently getting subsidies from the Federal Growers.

Do it right from the Get-Go and we will save money.

Illegal immigrants are not essential to our economy at all. I know a lot of (legal) citizens around here who would be glad to have ANY job. (And any company, factory or farm that is hiring illegals and not paying minimum wage is breaking those laws as well.) Whatever extra that may be spent in paying American citizens to do the job is definitely offset by the amount saved in welfare and medical services.

were not for showing people that would normaly show up to the job fully knowing ahead of time how to do something. ive worked with some from another company and let me tell you alot of them simply don't have a clue i cant count how many times id have to stop what i was doing to show this guy how to even start the equipment. costing time and money.

The homebuilders in Oklahoma are fire hot because since Ok passed the immigration bill, they now have to hire legal citizens and pay slightly higher wages for work that gets done ALOT slower. Personally, I have seen how the builders live, and they aren't hurting. Everyone should pay their taxes, ESPECIALLY if they want to feed off of mine!

Rebecca cited the biggest reasons illegals actually HURT our economy. Legal immigrants are fine, just don't lie, cheat and steal what I bust my @ss paying in taxes. (Being here illegally IS lying, cheating & stealing)

Illegal immigration lowers wages. For example if I ran a farm and could import workers illegally I could undercut any other farms which relied on american labor. Raising both my sales and income for my produce.

It makes sense to borrow money and then buy out smaller family run farms who unwittingly do things legally and by the book and employ American born labour, which I would soon undercut with illegals.

However, the supply of my farm produce be cheaper for the consumer, as some of the labour costs would decline, enabling more people to buy it who are not in competition with these low paid workers.

Overall though there is no real growth in production per worker, that means no real per capita income growth.

Note, as taxes have been shifted away from property owners and the idle rich onto ordinary workers, workers pay to support all the social costs, costs of unemployment, displacement and bear lower wages if they compete with the immigrants.

So although it increases the size of the economic pie, it doesn't increase peoples life chances and wages.

Wether they are essential or not, legal or illegal immigrants, One thing for sure that Americans should stop whining about loosing US base jobs to non-citizen because their live style is too expensive.

Removed the low pay jobs and let the business owners close their business because no Americans willing to take the low pay jobs.

Because they are (?). We're facing a serious shortage of lower-class white people for the first time (which I don't see as a problem, but anyway, someone needs to do the work). If we paid a citizen to do it, we'd have to pay them larger wages which would skyrocket the price of everything. Trust me, II's aren't going anywhere. Take an immigration law class, then you'll see.
