Here, Here! There is no valid argument is exactly right. All that can explain this disturbing issue is discrimination and bigotry. Conservatives love to make themselves superior to one group or another. But I believe more people are trying to understand this, so we are not all stupid, just blinded by the lop-sided media coverage and lack of true facts. Unfortunately, what is on American t.v. is what is seen as true, and that's not always the case.

I can think of a few right off the top of my head (1) Its against the law (2) they drive wages down (3) they drive property values down (4) its not safe having 11 million people running around and that we know completely nothing about their background (5) whet-er you refuse to admit it or not they take jobs from people all ready here!!

its true, Americans and people who dont have a solution-out always have scape-goats or someone to blame. Immigrants do work the hardest, otherwise why else would they come. People keep thinking that immigrants just come here to chill or to just over-populate the country. The only reason they leave their homes and come to the promiseland, is because they want to work and earn more money. Theres nothing else the United states can offer but jobs.

This is just an additional speculation not a direct answer to the question, but dont u think its funny how alot of the schools with a large hispanic community, more in particular the high schools and some of their american born hispanics think they can just get out of school and go protest with all their friends and family, like literally drop their text books and ditch school, im emphasising the kinda of mental level that the teenage hispanic conveys from time to time. Though immigrants do work hard i think their kids should start getting consumed in the American life style, not the Mexican.

I'm not opposed to immigrants, just illegal ones. See, legal immigrants are just like every day citizens, they pay taxes, etc. Illegal ones are paid under the table and somehow bypass the system to get welfare and health insurance (I know illegal immigrants that HAVE this don't ask me how!) which is currently paid for by those working citizens and immigrants that PAY taxes. Those illegal ones are freeloading in our country while other people foot their bill.

And i'm so tired of seeing fix you own country... look at the state i'm in MA, the freaking tunnel fell down and killed a woman. now people protested, billions of money was spent on this project including MY IMMIGRANT TAX MONEY. I have worked for 35 years, and never received a handout from my government. I do agree that anyone should be allowed into this country as an immigrant, however do it legally. Every person for illegal immigration should be forced to compensate these innocent people who have had their social security numbers and identities stolen by these illegals who invade our country with no care who they hurt. They should have to not only compensate the money lost from their social security accounts after they are zeroed out once the fraud is detected, but every last cent the victims had to pay taking time off work, every cent that went into photocopying documentation, every cent that went towards lawyers and gas driving somewhere to get this mess taken care of, and any other financial expenditure the victim had to cough up. Then the people who want to appease them pull out the excuses about how people who are not even alive now, and haven't been for hundreds of years, 'stole' the land from the American Indians. Mexico's problems are not the fault of Americans, but they are becoming our problems because the Mexicans are invading us and bringing their problems with them.

Most of these Americans are never counted in the unemployment rate if they do not manage to get unemployment benefits. Unemployment benefits are hard to receive.

Illegals draw welfare by stealing people's social security numbers and identities. That means there are a lot of people being directly hurt by these people as well. Innocent people are having their credit ratings ruined, having IRS problems, and social security problems. If someone who has had their social security number stolen gets married, if either spouse dies or become disabled then they can be denied their benefits.

The illegals get welfare by stealing social security numbers and identities and using false papers. Therefore, the time limits under the Clinton welfare reform doesn't apply to them because once the time limit is up, all they have to do is get new stolen social security numbers and identities and false papers and start all over again. American citizens who draw welfare are limited to the time limits from the welfare reform and are then cut off. American citizens who fall on hard times and have to turn to welfare assistance have a harder time finding jobs that pay enough to live off of because the illegals have taken jobs and depressed the wages of those jobs still available to American citizens. Therefore, those in the lower working class are highly unlikely to ever be able to "work their way up" since the opportunities have been stolen which will entrap these people into poverty with little to no way out.

My family moved to the US before WWII. Those of my family that didn't make it over got killed by the death camps. Our family assimilated to the American culture. We didn't expect the Americans to change to suit us. The illegal immigrants from Mexico are not civilized like that.

They not only changed the National Anthem to Spanish, they changed the words. They already burn our flag and hang our flag upside down. They waved the Mexican flag during a lot of their protests. Some schools have stopped hanging the American flag and forbidden students from wearing clothes with any part of the American flag on their clothing all to keep from offending the Mexicans. It's nothing short of an attack of our country, not only by the illegal aliens, but those who seek to appease them.

I am tired of the stereotype that Americans wouldn't do the work that illegals do. Illegals do all kinds of jobs for less than minimum wage which drives the wages down for U.S. citizens. Construction jobs are an example. There are lots of illegals doing construction jobs that Americans used to do because the companies can keep more of the profits if they pay less for the workers. All that does is make companies wealthier and Americans poorer. Illegals are stealing jobs that Americans have done for years.

You are completely wrong about the crime statistics, and since you aren't new here and have had ample opportunity to educate yourself, I have to assume you just don't want to know the facts.

Illegal immigrants are given education here and don't get it in Mexico, if they were citizens there. Who do they think pays for it? And the birth of that baby they walked across the border to have, who do they think pays for that? And food stamps and welfare for that baby who would have none of those things if born south of the border, who pays for that? We subsidize almost all of the cost of those kind of services for poor people here even if they pay all taxes.

Poor people are an economic burden on a country. We still let some in legally because we are more welcoming than most countries (Check out Mexico's laws if you want to compare ours with a country that legally accepts no poor immigrants at all.) Poor people who come here illegaly by definition come above the amount of poor people we want to pay for. They have no right to have us pay for them. They aren't "equally" paying for us, so "equality" has nothing to do with it.

Meanwhile our own children and poor aren't getting the benefit of the services we have funded for their use. We don't want to pay for other people's poor. They should work out benefits with thier own country. We do want to take care of our own.
