Why do supporters of illegal immigration purposely leave out the legality of the issue when talking about it?

Please understand this is the same group of people that laws don't apply too. Look at what they do regarding drug laws; and how about the Presidential election when it doesn't go their way? These people claim that Bush stole the election because the rule of law was applied in a matter that did not benefit them.

The fact is they have no personal responsibility which is the core difference between liberals and conservatives.

Maybe because everyone opposed to "illegal immigrants" complain so much about them, but hey don't mind when they clean their house, mow their lawns and eat the fruit the illegals immigrant picked. I'll give you one prime example remember former governor Pete Wilson... you do the research. So it is about race, everytime some white hick thinks of "illegal immigrant" they think Mexican, someone just like me...but i'm not illegal and neither are my parents and my grand parents...who by the way experienced an "illegal deportation" called "repatriation" just because they were Mexicans. So don't tell me its not about race when you know very well it is. I see it...you see it...everyone sees it, but some refuse to acknowledge it and distort the truth with lies and fear.

I don't drop the race card. My arguement is that our immigration laws make it too hard for people to come here legally. Between fees that are more than some of the immigrants make in two or three years, and the backlog that can last a decade before you're finally "allowed" in, we're compounding the problem. When you add in the fact that our country had a lot to do with the economic policies that bankrupted the economies of some of these countries, or the civil wars that many immigrants are fleeing, it is pretty shameful that we can't find a way to allow people to come here, find a new life AND do it legally.

The race card is dropped, because then they get us to defend ourselves rather than discuss the issue.

I'd like their home country to put in the infrastructure required to make their country a land of opportunity. It would help their people & the world's economy.

What's the point in going back in history to the time when all or most of our ancestors came here from Europe? Those were different times ... with different needs ... and above all, different laws! Our present day laws distinguishes between LEGAL and ILLEGAL immigration ... why is that so difficult to understand???

remember, when you are dealing with ignorance, there is no common sense. it doesn't matter what they do, as long as THEY are doing it, it must be legal. since they KNOW they are WRONG, every time someone tries to say the truth, ILLEGALS say it's because we're racist, no, it's because you are ILLEGAL! nothing else.

I'm not "a libbie".But..that was/is an uniforced law.The government knew it was happening and so did many Americans,and they turned a blind eye,UNTIL it was flung at you by FOXNEWS and now all the ppl that have been here for DECADES have a chance at being deported.I don't think it's right.

No one disputes that they have come into this country illegally and that they should not come here and break our laws. This is true and no denying it. But if you really check into the life these people live, their povershed countries and such you would probably do the same thing in their situation to better your family. Don't judge someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes. Crossed any borders lately?
