Why do we as a nation do nothing about immigration.?

We are in a democracy, THANK GOD. If this was a dictactor ship then Old Pol Pot Blair would have them as slaves building the Blair Towers Monument on what used to be Buckingham Palace.

We are generally tolerant nation. We do nothing because it's just no in our nature. Like you order a burger at McDonalds and ask for no geurkins, but they put them in anyway. This really angers you but instead of going upto the counter and demanding compensation like the Americans we get moody, moan to whoever is nearby by but not the people who can do something about. Why? Coz you don't want to cause a fuss.

We are the same with Immigration. We moan and moan moan but do nothing about it.

But lets be fair. They are not all freeloading skivers sponging of us hardworking taxpayers. Only a small majority.

So lets all try to get along, and speak our minds to right people who can make chages to the system for good of the country not to content the few Load moaners who say they should all be booted out and we should close our borders to all non-UK born citizens.

We are a subdued nation ruled by fear of losing our jobs, houses etc. We have become plebians.

1) our tiny island is over crowded

Yes, with an aging population and a declining birth rate. No immigration equals a dead economy in 20-30 years unable to pay pensions, private or govt. Add to that massive decline in new businesses opening, the NHS would shrivel and so on.

2) we are all suffering

Are we, I am ok, most of my friends are ok too. In fact almost everyone i meet is ok. Suffering is starvation, torture, homelessness and similiar ills. If you live in the UK and have access to a PC to use forums then you aren't suffering in any real sense of the word.

3) not enough jobs because immigrants are cheaper

I am work in IT contracting and the market goes up and down, do i complain when a job i may have gone for goes to an immigrant - no, i find out why that person got it and try to improve my skills for next time. Your position seems to be you are owed a well paying job, wrong you earn it, additionally many of the
jobs immigrants take are ones it is getting harder to recruit for amongst indigenous Britains, Butchery, Farm labour, night work etc. They also are NOT being hired cheaper generally due to the national minimum wage laws they can NEVER be hired cheaper than you can, they just are willing to accept less and work harder.

4) not enough housing because immigrants are living in them

Wrong again, housing shortages have been caused by buy-to-rent upsurge, TV programs 24/7 telling people they are capable of doing this are part to blame. The rise of holiday/second homes left empty mostly also massively contribute all this has been made possible by the booming economy over the last ten years which increased immigration helped fuel, and most of the second home owners and BTR people will be well off, white indigenous Britains.

5) all our resources are being used up and yet we all moan and groan and yet we do nothing about it

True we are running short of resources but it won't matter in 10-25 years time anyway as with no oil people will have to rely on local resources a lot more which balance out populations as people emigrate abroad to countries with better resource provisions.

Yes, and the govt the most people voted for counted using first past the post system in each ward, won. I didnt vote for the current govt but enough other peole did and so they won -that is democracy. Democracy ISN'T the people you like getting into power every time, if you can't accept that then go live in a dictatorship that suits your liking as every democracy has its ups n downs for different peoples points of view.

we can't really do anything about it besides turning into vigilantes. its the government's responsibility and they are ignoring the issue as of now. i will let them know how i feel when its time for elections.

I have a friend who once said to me that it is all very well for Tony Blair to tell us to integrate, but he does not have live with these people. The majority of these people live in squalor and are slowly but surely making a lot a lot of areas un-desirable.

We as a nation elect leaders into authority to look after the best interest of whatever group.In this instance the country and its population.Leaders of all groups are only people and work on the
information available to them in what they consider is best for the group they represent.If your representative(s) is/are not acting the way you consider they should let them know directly face to face.In this instance the MP'S at Westminster.The MP's hold surgeries in their constituencies where you may go and meet them face to face.If you write to them, do it by hand, it will receive far more attention so long as it is legible.Get involved politically, it is informative can be very interesting and good fun.If you write to your MP and can get to the House of Commons London to see her/him you may get a tour of Westminster, etc.
Have a go,give it a chance,you do not have to go alone,take a friend , ask your Union Rep to go with you or a relative.
I have gone with relatives to see MP's and as Shop Steward accompanied members.You will find them very approachable which ever party but keep in mind they are wordsmith's keep
a piece of paper with all the points you want to raise and take it with you.

Write your representation and tell them that you want immigration policy changed.

We can do something about it.

Vote for the politicians who actively want to stop immigration at the next election.

Write to your MP's and tell them how you feel.

Write to your local council and ask them how they prioritise there services in respect of immigrants.

They will get the message eventually.

Make so many protests about it, and vote this government well and truly OUT at the next G E. It won't make any difference but we'll all feel a hell of a lot better!

I do believe since the government officials are not addressing this problem that individual cities and states are taking it into their own hands. So, slowly but surely, we are doing something about it. I just wish we had more of a say so in where exactly our tax dollars were being distributed at.

We are all dismayed and let down by the government , and not just in immigration ,i am afraid for the future of my gran children ,not jobs no homes and for my daughter , their will not be any state pensions left,what can we do ?
organise as a people march on pilament , pay no local council tax
boycott employing immigrants ,the list is endless , but we do need to stand together

what has happened to this country? we are foriegners in our own country and its all down to this poxy government. the sooner blair steps down the better.
i dont think its a case of we're not doing anything, its more like we cant do anything because either nobody (BLAIR) listens or we are told that we are being racist.

never ceases to amaze me how ignorant some people are! i work in housing and immigrants do not get housed automatically! at least get that right!!!! if only it was that simple.... but i guess it feels good to have someone to blame, doesnt it?

I think that immigration is in fact necessary in any country. Western countries population's are growing older, which means more young people must come to work to provide for pensions, healthcare etc. However, with decreasing birth-rates, our own country will not provide these young people. Also unemployment has in fact decreased over the last few years. And I think that with more people wanting to live alone, you might find that that's a bigger reason for having less housing (if there is a problem?).
