The wording of this question is tricky. I am a minority and I don't dwell on what other people think of me. I am an individual and if people judge me on what other people do, it is their own loss.

Just look around you friend. Watch the news. Read the paper. Go into a predominantly white neighborhood and see how much dope peddling and street hangin is going on.

In today's society there is absolutely no excuse for the gang banging, "hood" mentality. All opportunities are available to everyone if they just commit themselves to excellence in whatever they do.
I live in a mixed neighborhood and by far most of the "minorities" are just like everybody else. They want peace and to make a decent living. But also when there is trouble you can always bet your last paycheck that it was commited by an "ethnic minority",

You are a right to a point. We have caused the huge problems in the slums and those neighborhoods that have been destroyed once minorities move in. Why? Because we didnt nip that crime **** in the bud as soon as it started happening. Hang the first m-fer that sold drugs, kids wouldnt have anywhere to buy it. That's not the case . When you move to a new country to live , you learn to assimilate into that country's laws and values .
If you can't accept that countries laws then move to a county that you feel more comfortable with .
If you don't like Democracy and independent courts , then perhaps another country would be a better option .

Well, there's that, and the fact that minorities have turned our cities into dangerous, filthy, shite holes.
And the fact that 80% of violent crime in this country is committed by minorities.
Or the fact that hard-working middle-class Americans are forced to pay for all of the medical, educational, and social services required for all of the illegitimate kids born at a rate of 73% by minorities.
It's easy to blame "white" people for your problems, but it may be more beneficial to start with the problems in your community first.

Everyone blames everyone else. Your very question seems to direct the blame away from ethnic minorities, no doubt towards "whitey", and blaming someone else thereby contradicting the entire context on which your statement is founded. It's a spurious argument when no one will ever take the responsibility for what they do, minority or not.

Any society (not just the 'west') will tend to blame minority groups for rising trends in social problems. People will naturally group together.

I tried to find some statistics to support the claims by other answers but UK crime surveys (albeit from 2000) show the (vast) majority of crimes in England and Wales commited by people from a white ethnic group.

It was harder to find more recent infromation, most ethnic surveys focus on victimisation of minorities. Perhaps the trend is in public perception helped in no small way by the selective reporting by the british media.

Immigration has created friction since humankind first existed. You talk about Western society... Read the histories of Asian countries. Were immigrating groups warmly received there? The Great Wall of China was built to keep people out.

You make so many broad generalizations that it's impossible to answer your question. You do realize that the answer to your question is a couple of semesters' worth of college courses or perhaps a PhD? The answer is both sociological and psychological.

I agree with everything you say. Any group has things that can be a benefit to others. Trouble with the English is that they are deeply racist. Just look out for the BNP vote in the May elections.

We blame law breakers. Illegal immigrants. It is not our fault that in this country illegal immigrants 75% come from Latin America.

Saying that because those who break our laws are largely of a certain ethnicity makes us racist is ridiculous. We didn't chose who would break our laws, they did.

that statement is a load of tripe, the reason that the problems are blamed on ethnic minorities is that they are to blame for most of the trouble, look at the statistics, shock horror, the increase in crime is pretty close to the increase in immigration, a coincidence i think not. you state that ethnic minorities are discriminated against, thats rubbish, i am trying to go to university next year and i found out that if your an ethnic minority you get up to 60 extra ucas points. thats the means that a hard working white person could get 3 As and a ethnic minority could get 3 Bs and they would have to view them academically the same. i am thinking of claiming to be an ethnic minority so that i don't have to work to get into uni. if you cant get the grades its not because you an ethnic minority its because your a lazy sod.
this country has reach such a ridiculous state that is discriminate against the white community. political correctness has gone too far, for Christs sake they have changed the nursery rime from "ba ba black sheep" to "ba ba rainbow sheep" as they thought it could be offensive to blacks ( or is that people with an African background). the thing that really enrages me is this thing that the blacks want reparations from our government as an apology for slavery. if you look at your history the blacks are to blame for the slavery as we didn't go over there and capture blacks. we went over and traded with them. we would give them guns so that they could kill each other faster, remember that the African continent has never been in a state of peace, in return for guns the black leaders would give us their prisoners of war. in an African country you would be hard pushed to find an individual who isn't corrupt. thats why they are in debt, we send them money and aid and they use it to buy guns so they can kill their own people. i am getting side tracked. we where one of the first nations to abolish slavery, this wasn't any benefit to us as slavery was good for the economy, if anything the blacks should be thanking us and paying us for being the driving force behind the ending of slavery.

To Caribean......there's just a handful of "white elites".......there's a whole lot of other "white" people that are living under the same rules as the minorites. Same problems and yet the hate gets thrown at the very people who are on the same boat as you. If it's "white elites" you're after.....then go after them and leave the rest of us out of it. We're trying to live as well and aren't real thrilled about the "elite" either.

Where I live I've gotten to see first hand what "minorities" do when they are put in positions of power..whether it be in government or business owners......surprise, surprise....they are just as bad if not worse than "whitey". They become the exact thing they
hated us for. They do exactly what they accused us for. The blame "whitey" for all your problems doesn't fly anymore. "Whitey" may have been PART of the problem at one time......but it's not the whole problem. "Whitey" also helped fight to end discrimination so it's a crock to keep blaming us all for all the problems they face. We have to deal with them as well. Poverty isn't just a "minority" issue. Discrimination isn't just a "minority" issue. Wake up and get out of your world and look around. You aren't that "special" or different.

look whats happening in London at the moment,there have been loads of black on black killings,all the deaths have been under 18s,I'm afraid it speaks for its self the statistics,also there is more racial attacks on white people in this country than on ethnic minorities,that's a fact,(official police statistics)so perhaps you can understand why we seem reluctant too welcome everyone with open arms!!!!

I do not think it is because they hate living with strangers (we live in a melting pot), it all about the blame culture and feeding small minded individuals the spin that it is us against them and they are to blame for you not standing up to consecutive governments who allow business to go under or get taken over by foreign investors.
