Why does Obama want to give citizenship to millions of illegals?

Minorities and people of low income tend to vote for the democratic party. Hispanics voted for Obama at about 70%. Hispanics also have a much higher population growth rate through a higher birth rate as well as a higher immigration rate (both legal and illegal). Consequently, both parties are seeking the future hispanic vote. However, it is difficult for the republican party because the republican party doesn't believe in a lot of spending for social programs which benefit minorities and people of low income. The democrats do believe in spending more on social programs. Unfortunately, the hispanic community supports their people more than the law of the land and consequently vote for politicians based on their willingness to disregard or change immigration laws. We are at a tipping point in this country, with the shift in larger hispanic populations, the democratic party will have a much larger advantage in votes than the republicans.

Hispanics who have made up the majority of illegal aliens during the first amnesty are going to benefit again from the second amnesty. It is also an amnesty even though there is a fine because they are essentially buying American citizenship through the fine. Generally, when one gets fined you do not get anything out of the fine. In this case, they get fined and pardoned as well as get American citizenship. If they get fined and deported and then wait in line in their home countries, then that would not be amnesty.

Some politicians also do not have the backbone to enforce immigration law. They claim that the law, not the parent's decisions, are breaking up families, that they are here to better their life, that they are coming from poverty. It is true that everyone wants to better their lives but ultimately it will need to stop. The US can not keep being a magnet to people who break the law. If you reward criminal behaviour you will only get more as evidenced since the first amnesty. This will get even worse as hispanic politicians are elected and seek to overturn immigration laws simply because it is mainly hispanics who are breaking the immigration laws. 76% of illegal aliens are hispanics.

In California, they are the dominant population with caucasians being the minority. This will occur in other states because of their population growth and with it they will have more political power which will build upon itself.

I think it is unwise because hispanics have much lower levels of education (only 60% graduation rate) which leads to a great low skilled labor supply when low skilled jobs are going overseas or mechanized.

I agree with the answers that state the reason of votes. It is a FACT that hispanics get off their butts and vote whenever the opportunity arises, unlike the americans, in particular, the white americans. Politicians know this and that is why they pander to them, the illegals, for future votes. Most of us think politicians are stupid. Politicians think Americans are stupid. Both are correct. Politicians KNOW that the majority of americans won't get off their butts to right the wrongs that they do. That is why laws get passed that most americans don't want. That is why illegals are made legals, because most americans will ***** but not do. We all saw the millions of illegals marching in a land to which they don't even belong to, demanding citizenship. Did you see any american marches? Maybe a couple. The politicians saw the same thing and said, hey, americans must be cool with this since they aren't doing anything, so let's legalize 40 million illegals. My 82 year old Father tells me that this is not the american way. We don't march in the streets to change things. We do it by voting. Well, if we aint votin, we aint changin nuttin! It's time to change strategy boys and girls! Politicians just aren't getting your message. We had traffic tied up, businesses closed, all across this land when the illegals had the nads to march in your streets. People who, by law, shouldn't even be on your land.
