sometimes its not as easy you make it sound. USA has opportunities that they don't have in their home countries. some people can't find jobs to pay well some can't even find houses. Also America has many other luxuries that everyone wants to experience |

"Going to America" still continues to the dream for many in underdeveloped and developing countries in the world for obvious reasons. It has always been the easiest option than even think about 'fixing' any kind of condition, political or social, in their own countries.
The bulk of would-be immigrants is in the minority, no matter which country they are from (check with your embassies). Most are blue collars from the lower-educated, unskilled category who just want economic gains; while the smattering of professionals and other highly-skilled people may want to enjoy a greater degree of personal freedoms in the US of A - "champion of the oppressed".
Not every country nor everybody sees America as the ideal country to immigrate to - i for one have never been interested; but i've always liked America for a thousand other reasons. i still do. |

With all respect, not every country(people) of the world wants to live or visit the USA. It is true that the USA has a very good democratic system but its not about democracy only. It requires economic stimuli to get them on their feet first. Once that is achieved, democracy could be introduced. |

You are assuming quite a few things in your question:
- That every country wants to be like the U.S.
- That people in every country have the ability to vote
- That any country that isn't like the U.S. needs to be 'fixed'.
There are people that move to the U.S. because they are seeking opportunities and freedoms not available in their home country. There are many many more people that do not come to the U.S. and are perfectly happy with their culture and government.
You may want to take a second look at your U.S.-centered view of the world. The United States is not as important (or as well liked) as you seem to think it is. |

The US is a vast and very diverse country and most people would like to visit it, but I'm sure many of those who come are looking for economic progress. If they could achieve that at home they would stay at home. The Irish and Italians and other Europeans and Asians did the same thing in the 1800's, the Mexicans are doing it now.
If we were a dictatorship with the same opportunities for economic advancement they would still come. |

When you say "America" I guess you are referring to US.
People don't move to US because of its laws, people go US because they do not have good incoming in their countries (just only for that).
You say US is the land of free, i doubt it. You should know some countries in Europe. |

U have a skewed idea about imigration it's a two way thing western contries at the momement need immgrants and also advertise for people from other countries to come to there country america does this as well. By the way with out immigrants american farms would not be able to run since most of there workers are immigrants heck service industries like hotels would close down don't think that immigration is a one way thing if it was then countries wouldn't actively seek and allow immigrants they wouldn't steal doctors from poorer countries or other skilled workers. You know if ur not an american indian than ur an immigrant to america anyway, thats how the country was built read some history and have a better respect for the people who have helped make ur country a better place whether it be cleaning ur toilets or being ur doctor, keeping that corner shop open there 2nd generation children paying higher taxes immigration is needed especially with declining birth rates in the west and an ever older population. |

I'm sure, especially after 911, not everyone wants to come here. But those who do want to because of our freedoms, our wealth, and something called the Constitution. As to why they don't change their own country. Turn on the national news. They are dying everyday trying. |

I can understand were you and all Americans come from but I dont think that America is the only county with this problem. Australia has that problem and so does the country I'm living in, and many more. We have many people from surrounding countries trying to get in and it does create a problem when they rob you from the street or enter your home or take your job,in other words take advantage. Unfortunately that is the price a country pays for providing opportunity and being open. It wouldnt be so easy to improve a countries living standards but if it did, it sure would solve many problems. On the other hand though, dont the more developed countries take advantage of these immigrant for their own purposes? I think they do. There is always two sides on a coin and we have to take that into consideration also. |

dont be stupid. people go where money is. people are motivated by greed. one of the reasons why people go to usa is not because its a great place to live but because they have low taxes. and the primary reason why usa has low taxes is because people are greedy and selfish. they dont want to pay taxes that can benefit people other than themselves. the question you have to ask yourself is, do you really want to be around so many greedy people. usa is also a racist place, so you have to think. if you are a person of colour, do you want to be treated as a 2nd class citizen. for all the fools who think usa has freedom, you got to look at a few things. healthcare- no universal. death penalty. do you want to be in a place that is so backward that it is killing its own citizens? spying. do you want to have your privacy violated and the govt spy on you? if you do, you might as well go live in nazi germany. abortion. many american cities outlaw abortion. if you were a woman, is that freedom? i doubt it. homophobia- gays are not allowed to get married. if you were a gay, would u think usa was free? probably not because you have to fear for your life. guns and violence. yes guns are actually legal in usa. so you got crazy idiots running around in with guns shooting each other. is that freedom? freedom to get shot maybe. americans are also much more violent than their neighbours to the north. freedom? yes freedom to get your *** kicked because someone stepped on your sneakers at a disco. usa claims to have religious freedom, but dont let that fool you. allow me to translate for you. it means freedom to be christian. if you are anything other than christian, amerikkkans arent very tolerant of that. just ask some muslims. we'll see how much "freedom" they have. |

The only thing I'd like to do is to visit NY and Chicago. I couldn't imagine to live there because the Americans I've met are rather limited and they believe that they are from a god given country which is not true. You are very proud of your democracy, media, legal system etc. but you have a president who wasn't legally elected and the media form your opinion. |

first of all it is not the cuontry that wants to come to USA but maybe the people.... and for this there are several reasons:
1st, usually those lucky from the poorest of the third world countries often (for understandable reasons) enigrate their lands and move to some 1st/2nd World states. The US is not the only home to this plethora of immigrants.. Italy, France, Germany are just a few other examples. These people are looking for better jobs, more freedom, money etc..
now most of these poorer nations have dictator-like rulers, and they just cant simply decide to 'impeach' them and 'vote' for a new leader...in some places, people can even get killed for attempting such moves!
This is why it is the role of the more powerful, such as the US, to aid the less powerful, especially its people, and try to promote democracy, which breeds higher standards of living, freedom etc. the problem here is that many populations do not accept democracy, since it is something they are not familiar with, and are practically 'brainwashed', through censured media and so on, thinking their system and ruler is the best. another problem is that usually democracy takes a war to implement (Europe had to go through 2 world wars, and the middle east now...well, we all know its a mess) and what is worse is the transition period that is normally long, violent and difficult. Thus, it is not a simple deed to "change their laws and become like the USA instead of moving to the USA".
there is also another reason why people go to the USA so much. you have to understand all americans are either in origin from Africa, Europe, South America, Asia, or are Native Americans. i mean the US is a fairly new country of less than 300 years, born from the British! what im trying to say is that Americans are by origin immigrants, Italians, Irish, German etc... native americans (perhaps the true americans) are now a minority. lots of immigrants, hence, come to the US to be with the rest of their family. |
