Why does everybody keep saying that the Immigrants want a hand out?

I just read a news report that obesity is rampant at the poverty level.

To me that says, too much food and not enough work.

This goes for all races and people!

As for having kids...If you can feed them, don't breed them.

Your points are narrow at best. I do not feel that the immigrants want a handout, they want to do work for less money driving the wages down in this country, let alone the fact that they do not pay taxes and are very taxing on our resources provided for and by tax paying citizens. Oh yeah, they also send their money back to Mexico or where ever they are from. I'm going to stop now but I could easily go on.

It isn't immigrants that we have a problem with, it's ILLEGAL immigrants that are the problem. Even though I am not a fan of welfare, there are times that people do need help --- the difference (in theory) is that at some point they will be putting back into the system by paying taxes when they get back on their feet. Although there will be lazy bums from all backgrounds, illegals drain the economy by using resources that everybody else has to pay for.

Well I am sure you have to be corrected, I am sure you are saying Illegal criminals as the Illegal people that are here with out the correct papers are not Illegal Immigrants they are illegal criminals. They have come here to work or cheat the system and get on the government roles. If they are here illegally then they have broken the law, and are criminals. They should not get any government help except the bus ride back to their home land.

For the others that are on subsistence and they are immigrants legally then I have no problem or I don't think other have any problem with them, Brown, Black, White, Green, Red or even Purple. If they are legal then they have the right to file for government hand outs. If they are Illegal Criminals they have not rights to our Government hand outs and should go home and apply for legal status like thousand other Legal Immigrants to the country.

I am not in denial, If they are here legally then that is find. But how am I suppose to be happy about supporting someone and their family that is here illegally, I go to jail if i break the law, what is wrong with this picture, They come her illegally and get food, cloths, education. They should get legal or get out

i agree. i. i know many whites and blacks that do the same as well. its not just illegals that milk the government. some are lazy mom's who would rather have babies than work, rather not tell who the dad is to get more help. even if they know exactly where they are. all race of women are doing this, some recruit other women to do the same. i should know they tried to get me to divorce my hubby of 12 years to get help. this was back when i was only married a year long.

People are just upset because the illegals want, expect and know we will give them a handout. I personally know that we have to educate undocumented person's children and we also give WIC and free health care to mothers to be and children.

No one is complaining about the color of anybody that really needs assistance. Our resources should be spent on them and not illegals.

We're talking about illegal immigrants. Thats the true issue. The immigrants who come here illegaly and still want all that comes with citizenship of the US. Why should we pay for people who don't pay taxes in this country? Why should we bow to their complaining, no matter where they come from. I don't care if they are from mexico, panama, italy, germany or where ever.

Coming here to expect a free hand out have never been the way of the TRUE and LEGAL Immigrant. My Great Grandfather brought the family here in 1912 from Germany for a better life.
Through hard work and NO government handouts all his children became millionaires.

There were also less government obstructions to starting a business 50 to 70 years ago too. (Thank you Democrats and Liberals)

This nation has been built on 500+ years of immigration. Hearing people say "keep out" is one of the most ironic things I've come across in the last few years.

I strongly agree with you. Most of the anti-immigration, anti-illegals lobby are racist bigots. Of course, they will deny it (pretending it's just about respect for the law and national sovereignty). In reality, it's just an excuse to attack a visible minority that they hold in contempt. Without Hispanic immigrants, America would be a much poorer place, in every respect.
