Why does this story display illegals do in fact receive public assistance I thought the pro's said no way do?

I am an American and have worked all my life. I worked and paid my dues to my government. I am now disabled and receive Medicaid. I get a new card each month. With these I receive a notice that if I am an Illegal I have to make sure I have my paper work in order (sic). So Yes to the fact They are getting it.
It disgusts me. I know older people that paid into this and need it now and they can not get it. LUDICROUS

Thanks for the heads up. I'm from Pa and will hammer my reps to get this passed. They do receive benefits in Pa. The few section 8 housing units we have in my town are filled with them. They claim they are homeless so they get expedited housing,moving ahead of citizens who have been on the waiting list for years.
It's about time it stops.

Dirty Martini- It is closer to about 1 Trillion annually when you add up Federal, State, County and City money being spent on ILLEGAL INVADERS in this country every year. The state of CA alone can account for about $12.5 BILLION in State Funds, considering they were about $15 Billion in the hole last year that is a huge amount. The Federal Government put in about $330 Billion last year alone.

They get FREE medical because they show up at the local Emergency Room and get free treatment for themselves and their Anchor Babies, from everything from the common cold to whatever. There have been 85 hospitals, clinics and ER's that have closed because ILLEGAL INVADERS are getting treatment and not paying the bills. Is this fair to AMERICAN CITIZENS????

They get food stamps, welfare, HUD HOUSING!!!! it is estimated that about 65% of the HUD housing in LA is occupied by ILLEGAL INVADERS! WHy should people that are in this country ILLEGALLY get to live in Government Housing?? Why should ILLEGALS GET ANYTHING THAT US TAX PAYERS PAY FOR!!?!?!?!

The states are right. In the news not too long ago, California has been required to fully disclose how many illegals use their services, and no longer "estimate" for them to receive federal assistance.

I am from TX. People who know more than I do and deal with this daily say that illegals cannot get welfare legally. With illegal documents, maybe they can. I imagine welfare agencies check carefully but can make mistakes.

Illegals in TX cannot go to college (no in-state, no loans), no medical help (except in medical emergencies in the emergency room-federal law). They can go to school here if they have a US address (easy to do if you put down a legal relative). What they can do is live with someone who is illegal but who has welfare. They may be able to get around legality somehow.

I don't know about Pennsylvania, know that CA is
much more likely to give benefits. If PA does not want to give any kind of welfare, that is fine with me.

As a border resident, I know about the poverty in MX, but we cannot support the world.

As a nurse here in Texas I can tell you WITHOUT A DOUBT that illegals Do GET WELFARE..Case in point when a illegal mom comes into the hospital to have a baby she will either be on medicaid or will get it to help the hosp recoup some money and then she will also get food stamps and wic for that "baby".Now I live middle size town and I see these people with their new born at a grocery store and there will be steak,cookies,soda in the cart .Now tell me when did it start that you can feed a new born a steak.But I think will maybe its for the family dog.But then I know FOR SURE its for one of the illegal parent.So to say that they dont get welfare is just crazy but you can trust me you will get answers here of people that will try to justify illegals being here .But they will still take up for their illegal brothers and sisters no matter what.Illegals receive it you and I both know they do.

Of course they get assistance, If they didn't they wouldn't work so hard to come here illegally.
Every dept has stated that illegal aliens are receiving benefits, and told the costs. There are a lot of sources, especially your own state representatives.
