Why don't more immigrants apply to live in USA/Canada?

Why don't more immigrants apply to live in USA/Canada?

There is much more space for them there. UK and EU countries are really small by comparison and it is getting squashy here:)

I don't know about Canada, but the US actually has fairly strict immigration limits, at least in comparison to the number of people trying to get in. That's why we have the same problem (xenophobia) with Mexican, Central and South American Immigrants as Europe does with Middle Eastern immigrants.

We already have impossible regulations that make applying much less desirable than just sneaking in.

Have you been to the US or Canada? I don't know why you think there aren't enough immigrants in the US and Canada. EU immigration is nothing compared to the influx of American and Canadian immigrants (except for the biggest cities in the UK, France and Germany).

It is true that immigration is not easy but it is not easy to migrate to the EU either if you're from a non-EU country. Apparently, for someone from an EU country, it is much easier to move to another EU country.

I think Canadian immigration is somewhat stricter than that of the EU and American immigration is super strict so there aren't too many opportunities that would let an immigrant stay in the US legally for good. If you don't migrate based on family relations, you must be very good at something to be able to obtain a green card and a lot depends on your luck. However, as for non-immigrants, there are thousands of them working on temporary visas so I don't know why you think the EU has more immigrants than Canada and the US.

i moved to the usa from england in september and married my american wife its took 3 thousand pounds, a ton of paperwork, interviews at the embassy in london and california, medicals. Ive had to provide tons of evidence that me and my wife are living together here. And ive only just got my greencard, i can work soon. And then have another interview in 2 years for my permamant greencard.

So its not that easy

Simple as it is harder to.

Because they have strict regulations to get in.UK is just a free for all.I'm thinking of trying to get in to Canada myself as I'm sick of this small overcrowded country, sick of the government not looking after the British, sick of working 24/7 as a live-in carer and still not able to afford to rent a room and the whole world just milking the system.

Yeah apparently you have know idea what your talking about there are 38 million foreign born people in the u.s. The u.s. doesn't really have strict immigrantions laws and we don't even deport people that are here illegally(despite the fact the fact that most Americans want them deported.) It's pretty easy to sneak into the we have the longest border in the world with Canada. Our border Mexico is about 2000 miles long it's a lot easier to get into the u.s. illegally than the u.k. Yeah the u.k. doesn't really take in that many immigrants compared to the u.s.
