better yet, why don't we send all the convicts over there. they would be told that if they do the job and providing they are still alive in 5 years they get to be free when they get home. this would save the US billions of dollars a year and probably cut crime too.

I think military service ought to be a path to citizenship. Why not make them prove how bad they want to live here. Some kind of term of public service wouldn't be bad either.

Serving in the military & putting one's life on the line for this country is the only job illegals are excluded from performing in this country. They are elgible to take the jobs of Americans in the National Guard that are repeatably called for duty in Iraq. Both the illegal alien & the low skilled America worker are being exploited by the elitist group that support illegal aliens in this country. The elitist, under the guise of caring about anyone or thing but their own selfish interest seek to increase the supply of low skilled labor & drive the wages of low skilled Americans even further into the poverty level. I didn't mean to exclude the Catholic church & their special interest regarding the number of easily controlled Catholics they are interested in bringing here from south of the border.

I realize this is a tongue in cheek question but I believe that I believe that is the "pathway to citizenship" that they should take.

If an illegal immigrant (or an immigrant) will serve in the military(if qualified) and learn English then they should be made full citizens after a 4 year stint.

It would help us and it would provide us with the type of people who are willing to contribute to our society.

Great idea! We should have the Army rep who usually goes to High schools around the U.S. trying to get our kids to inlist to instead go out to a Home Depot at 7a.m. every morning and see how many are willing to go with the inlistment officer. Makes you go hmmmm.

It's more than illegal immigrants who revieve more than they pay. If you *really* want to change America, think about exporting our whole minority population. By your reasoning, we should send our whole African American population back to Africa, because a numerous amount of them recieve welfare.
