Why dont Mexicans and other illegals stay home and improve their own country for their people?

why should they? they can come up here and milk us dry, it won't cost them a thing. it is too easy to stay home and try to improve things- that would be asking too much.

someone mention "because the government is corrupt" this is a good reason why, you have to understand that the main reason the US has been able to grow is because of its Legal system and enforcement of propety rights among other things. So you ask why dont Mexicans stay? well you have to rememeber not all of them leave... mexico has 1/3 the population of the US in a size only 3 times of Texas so relative to their population size is not that many. Compared to other countries in central america. You are right about mexican natural resources but the government is corrupt not everyone succedes even if they try. thats not to say noone does. I mean the richest men alive is Mexican and lives in Mexico. The vast majority of the mexican immigrants are the bottom of the economic class. but there are newwer generations coming out with more education that do stay and are helping the country. You also have to remember that been next to the richest nation on earth is very appealing!.

Mexico is a failed state. Corruption and drug dealers have taken over. Free trade hasn't worked out for them,as they can't seem to compete with China. Another little known fact is that Mexico is running out of oil, which the government depends on for revenue. Lastly, the wealth is poorly distributed,with the one of worlds wealthiest people,Carlos Slim living there.

You're assuming the government of the country is effective, which is really isn't.

Most Mexicans do stay home, in fact. For the large part it's the poorest and most desperate, who the government have ignored, who end up escaping to the US as a way to try to create a life of more than just desperation and poverty. There are some immigrants from other economic factions of course, and they migrate for the same reason as anyone migrates. Americans migrate to other countries and naturalize too, just as a personal choice in going to a country that more closely suits their ideals and preferred way of life.

If you really want to know why Mexicans migrate here, why don't you ask some? Nobody knows the answer better than those who have walked away from everything and everyone they have ever known in the hopes of finding something better. It's pretty destructive actually, to try to form opinions on other people's motivations for things without actually speaking to them directly.

Why don't they just come up to the border and work for the American companies that pay pennies and pollute the whole area. Maybe they should fence in the car and appliance and other companies, so no one escapes north.

And it's not just Mexico...the number of immigrants from Asia is growing pretty fast. They come here to look for opportunities. Some Asian countries have beautiful geography and resources to exploit but they can't. Politicians ruin their countries.

For the same reason employers in this country hire illegal aliens... it is cheaper to get the resource overseas. That includes human being of course, and the effect of that has been to create population concentration that are contaminated production centers with nothing to offer the people who work there beyond death from cancers. They exist in India, China, Russia, Mexico and in Eastern Europe.

We cannot allow all of them to come here. Many of us do not want our culture destroyed by greedy employers. We made the laws, and while many think they can simply slip by those laws, I most sincerely hope that doesn't happen.

On the other hand, if this country supported the people who wanted to fix their own countries, we would be doing the right thing, and we would be creating very good neighbors. We need to do that. We need those people in place, and we need to find ways to improve their lives. And let me point out that it is far, far less expensive to help someone in Mexico than it is to bring them here and help them.

And we don't have unlimited resources in the sort of educational opportunities our kids can get into, and the illegal aliens can get into. Mexico has refused us many times... perhaps this time they will allow us to go south and provide the educations that will enable Mexico to do well.

Enrique: When the anglo colonist came to America they found no bed of roses pal and they had to clear forests, plant crops, endure harst snowy winters and many were raped and massacred by the poor native indian. American had a corrupt govenment called the British and you know what jose we kicked their butts out and lost good young men doing it. this is why we do not respect mexicans because they do not have the cahones to stay in Mexico and fight corruption and the govnerment. If you would have asked us politely we may have helped you fight them ourselves.

Why would they do that when there is a nice clean and financially sound country in walking distance that they can start turning into another cesspool? A place where they pay no taxes but get services for free and they can't be traced when they commit crimes must seem like heaven.

Because they don't have the money to influence the system. And if they did have the money, they wouldn't want to change the system. So it's a vicious cycle that is going to need a revolution to fix.

Because that's too much of an effort for them. They'd rather do it the easy way and come to the US illegally and leech off the system at the expense of taxpayers.

you don't get it do you? there are no opportunities in mexico. the power structure is totally corrupt. so they should rise up in revolution? the mexican government would request help from usa, and get it. we can't have a revolution on our southern border, so us troops would be sent in. those troops would attempt to squash the insurgency. as evidenced in iraq, the us government considers insurgency as criminal, american troops would be killing these same people trying to change their country. then you'd have a real mess.

sure there are opportunists coming up from mexico, but many of these people are refugees, fleeing a corrupt nation. they have little choice.

Im tired of people who say mexicans are lazy, leeching , stupid people. They are not they simply are trying to get out of a terrible situation they had no choice in joining. I get tears in my eyes of anger when i see racism and people profiling other races before they meet them.
