You apparently were not aware that the last amnesty bill failed to pass the Senate?
The reason why was that people got on boards like this one, passed information to each other, including links to groups which gave us contacts and information about the bill, and the repercussions of that bill on the American taxpayers, if that bill were passed.
Capitol Hill in D.C. got so many phone calls one day, the entire phone system at the Capitol crashed. Those were voters telling their elected Senators if they passed that bill, start looking for a new job, because your seat is going to be up for grabs come election time. Both Republicans and Democrats were calling, and faxing and sending email and snail mail.

So listen up, we made a difference. We share information.
We made a bigger impact than a few million illegal aliens marching in the streets made.

People talk because they are looking for an answer. Thank God we live in a society where we can say how we feel and what we think without fear of repercussions. Our borders are being violated at an alarming rate, and if we don't find a viable option, we are the ones who will pay the price. I keep listening and reading to form an opinion, and just as I think I'm starting to form one, someone else comes up with another very good point that I haven't considered. For example, what are we going to do with the people who fought side by side with our troops and are now marked for death? Do we just turn our backs on them and say, "Thanks a lot, but we don't need your help anymore, and we don't care about what happens to you"? This is a very serious issue, and there are no easy answers. That's why we need to continue to discuss it, and perhaps someday we will find a way we can all live in peace and harmony. Until then, if you don't want to listen, and if you've already made up your mind, simply stop listening, and let the rest of us continue to look at the issue with all earnestness considering the price we will pay for the over-crowding versus the humanitarian aspect of it. It's a hard
question, and the answers don't come easy.

To answer your question, we're making a very big difference. The amnesty bill would have passed if we had not let our voices be heard. The tide is turning.

The whole point of politics is to debate. Stating someone can not talk about a particular subject because you do not want to hear about it anymore will not stop it from occuring. Those who choose to not read about immigration on this forum simply move on.

As the first poster said. If YOU are not "worried" about it, you should never ever post another question or answer about illegal aliens. Why don't YOU stop talking about illegal immigration?? If you don't like the topic, find another forum, moron. WE will talk about it if we want to, if you don't like it, go elsewhere...

BTW, why ask a question, then tell people that respond to "shut up". Everybody on this site has a right to post their opinion, including those that disagree with you.

Jamal, perhaps you should be the one to "shut up". Andy makes a fair and valid point. It appears that you don't like it because it goes contrary to your point of view. We, the people, have made our point of view known, and it did make a difference in the Amnesty law. Since we made our view known there, all the more reason to expect our point of view to be effective in other ways as well.
Personally, we should uphold the laws already in place, go one step farther and put a bounty on the illegals, and shut down the border. America is not a golden goose. We can not support everyone, nor should we even try. Those who want to enter legally, are welcome. Those with wet pants from crossing the river at night should be met with due force as criminals. If you don't like that, it's just to bad. I don't like free loaders, nor do a lot of other people.

Because if we stop the government will/ would do something really stupid. They will not all be deported, an impossable task, but we can get some type of controll of who does come here. You are talking about illegal immmigration and not legal immigrants which all accept. Peace

you are absolutely correct. illegal immigration will live on in twenty years, the government will make sure of that. not hating any illegals, i am of hispanic descent, but my parents came here legally and have contributed to the american way of life., but my parents did not have 10 kids and sponge off the government. it is just so many schemes that will not ever go away. i will stop complaining as of right now. many thanks.
