!1st off, they are not innocent and the reason they are called "Anchor Babies" is because the ILLEGAL parents use them the "Anchor" themselves in the US.

And the 14th amendment only provides citizenship to people born on us soil provided they were not involved in any ILLEGAL activity. Therefore, the "Anchor Babies" are really not US Citizens, but our lax government wont enforce the laws, that is why the GREAT PEOPLE OF AMERICA call ILLEGAL INVADERS babies "Anchor Babies"

And if you don't like "dumb Americas" then get the heII out, and go live in another country!

Senator Jacob Howard, wrote the 14th amendment. Sen Howard clarified his intent in senate debate in 1866. He stated "This will not, of course, include persons born in the US who are foreign or aliens."

That tells me that anchor babies are not citizens, and our government is wrong in granting them citizenship. These "innocent babies" are citizens of another country and need to be deported with their parents.

I guess the real "dumb Americans" are the ones who believe these babies are citizens and don't REALLY know the constitution.

Why would I stop calling them Anchor Babies,that's what they are.They are nothing more than a child born as a method to try and gain sympathy so the parents can circumvent Immigration Laws.The parents should just be Deported,and if the child wants to come back when it's an adult,that's fine.

Because ILLEGALS are KNOWINGLY using this loop-hole to stay in the country just because they give birth here!! If they (the illegal parents) would try to become US Citizens, then I would have no problem with it. But the fact is, most illegals don't even bother to become legal in this country, don't want to learn the language nor adapt to the American way of life --- that is the issue!!!!!!!

Anchor babies should not be allowed citizenship. The 14th amendment was created to protect the children of slaves. We no longer have slaves therefore it is not needed and nor are illegals and their multiple offspring.

It is the fault of the Supreme Court for refusing to try and clarify the clause in the 14th amendment. "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof". In the absence of any clear legal clarification, law enforcement has no choice but to declare any child born on US soil a citizen.

All I have to say is SCREW you white people. I came out of two proud mexicans, and im not an anchor baby. I graduated out of high school at the young age of sixteen, and im proud. I went to Harvard and graduated with honors in my class. I did it all without any financial aid, because my family worked hard for my education.My parents taught me everything that i know, even if they are not teachers or engineers. Sure many Americans hire our men and women to care for your lawn, work on your farms, care for your children and wash your cars. Nobody that comes here, is having fun. They came here to look for a brighter future for tomorrow, and for some Billy Bob or Piper to say that we are a burden for this country is just plain ignorant, and uneducated. This country was made with the sweat of many immigrants and it will continue. Go ahead keep on making your fences hire and your equipment more advanced, Mexicans will still be coming here, waiting for the day that America will fail and come PLEADING for the help of the hard working MEXICANS.
