Let me hazard a little guess.
I'm willing to bet a substantial sum of money, that after a short break, "Roy of the Racists" is back.
That's Roy West, BNP candidate (failed) in Dukinfield, Leeds United supporter and serial purveyor of nonsense on Y!A using multiple identities. He doesn't appreciate the difference between legal immigrants, illegal immigrants and asylum seekers.
Roy, how come as a stalwart of Greater Manchester, you support Leeds? You aren't an immigrant from Yorkshire, are you? Seeking asylum to the East of Manchester from oppression in Yorkshire?
How do the locals take to these strange Yorkshire football supporting ways? Or do they just accept that you're different to City and United supporters and let you get on with it?
That would be the civilised way to treat someone a bit different, wouldn't it?
Ha! As if you can draw any parallels!
WILLOW: The questioner is BNP activist in Greater Manchester, Roy West, who uses Y!A to push his party's racist agenda. Hence the soubriquet "Roy of the Racists"
Whether or not it is racist to question immigration policy depends on motive. If it's concern about infrastructure and ability to undergo rapid population change and reasonble concerns (the concerns that most people have about immigration), then of course that's not racist.
If it's "I don't like foreigners with dark skins" (BNP concerns), then .... |

Immigrants:
Go and study your immigration system and you'll see there are several streams of immigration programs, as for skilled migration, UK need highly skilled workers, and that's why UK grants visas to them so they could make more contribution to the economy than lots of native Britons. For example, graduates from the top MBA schools are generally granted a highly skilled migration visa; and for those who have a post-grad degree, years of working experience, already a high income earner in their home countries and under the age of 30 also gain entry to work in UK, and subsequently become permanent residents. Then there are family reunion visas given to for example, spouses of British citizens and permanent residents.
As for refugees, UK signed the UN convention on refugees after WW2, because during the war, there were a lot of refugees fleeing war zones and genocide. UK does have a system that scrutinize new asylum claims, it is not easy for asylum seekers to be granted a refugees' visa.
Refugees are those who cannot return to their home countries due to well founded fear of persecution based on their nationality, ethnic background, religion, member of a particular social group or political opinion; and any reason other than the 5 mentioned is not a substantial ground for asylum.
Mind you, there are lots of people around the world still persecuted for these things. Take Sudan for example, the genocide happening there, and UK as a country that signed the convention is obliged to provide protection to those fleeing the persecution. And China, don't just look at the 2 digit GDP growth; Chinese government jail people for voicing against the policies and the government officials; for going to underground churches, and harvest organs from those practicing Falun Gong without consent and then sell them to the foreigners who need an organ transplant. Don't you think UK as a country that believes in humanitarianism has the obligation to give them protection once they reach the shore?
It is very hard for people from non-EU countries and third world countries to gain permanent residency in the UK; and persecution often happens in the third world countries.
Then, there are those from Hong Kong due to the hand-over; ask Margaret Thatcher why she gave Hong Kong back to China. |

Because Britain is full of left wing Liberals that just love everybody. What they don't realize by letting in all these immigrants that they are changing the lifestyle and fabric of Britain. While it appears nice to let in millions of Muslims, it won't be long before they will be complaining about pork served in the school, no prayer rooms with rugs for their use, etc. They have permanently changed the British life. |

Because we are a soft touch. To get sickness benefit or unemployment benefit I had to prove that I had worked for 26 weeks (a long time ago now) and had 26 stamps on my card, but then I was born here as were my parents grandparents, great grandparents and great great grandparents. If our so called government withdrew these benefits you would be surprised how many would clear off elsewhere |

Because it isn't. Sure you can't go anywhere without hearing a non-English accent or seeing a non-white face, but that doesn't constitute a "Flood".
Using terms like "flood" to express your concern over immigration is racist, could you not have grabbed your thesaurus and used a more intellectual (non-racist) term? |

We allow them to or the government does. look after the immigrants that's their policy |
|

Mr Abba

I think the important reason why they come here is because we have laws that are enforced in this country. I dont think it is just about getting benefits from the government because alot of them actually want to work. Our system lets them come into this country and stay if they are true. I dont have anything against a person who claims asylum and is honest, because i would do the same too if my life was in extreme danger. |

Who is "Roy of the Racists"? Since when has it been racist to question the huge amounts of immigrants entering this country? The fact that the majority are white eastern europeans blows that argument out of the water!. For the umpteenth time... Read my lips, this is not about racism but about numbers, there are simply too many people coming here, our essential services cannot cope. Even if they do work (as the vast majority do) we do not have the resources to absorb them in such numbers. That is common sense not racism. As to why.... Look no further than our EU masters, it is they who govern us now, those in Westminster are merely puppets, going through the motions, whilst they sell this country down the river. There is not one right thinking, working class member of this society who's life has not been affected by this scale of immigration. The rest must live in ivory towers in my opinion. For the first time in my history, the argument is not about race but about the deliberate destruction of my country.
Have just read the above..... What a load of rubbish!!! No wonder we are in the state we are in when people actually believe that hogwash. Arrghhh I am speechless for once! |
