Why is doing nothing better than this dead immigration bill?
|
If the immigration bill is truly dead, doesn't that mean that the status quo just continues the way it is? So why is it better to have millions of people here illegally than trying to do something about the problem? And to those who say we have to deport everyone, you should understand that that is simply not going to happen.

I'm afraid it's a return to the status quo. Even worse, I fear the politicians are just waiting for public interest to die down so they can vote through an even more ridiculous bill. |

The bill means nothing if the laws are not enforced.
The laws that exist are more than adequate.
The real crime is against those that did not enforce. |

Watch. Already got 5 people yesterday deported...Its what I'm good at...calling the police, getting people enraged, and getting things fixed.
Tell me it isn't going to happen, and I will send you so many darn illegals, you wouldn't dream of having enough taco meat to feed them all.
It is, will, and WE WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING FOR AMERICA! NOT ME, NOT ANY TRUE AMERICAN!!! |

Yes, having millions of criminals lurking in your country illegally is slightly better than rewarding them for thier crime and thus encouraging even more to commit the same crime.
The '86 Amnesty was granted to 5 million. As many of as 20 million illegals are squating in America in hopes of another one. Had there been no Amnesty in '86, that number would likely be lower.
Doing nothing, however, is not what those who opposed the Amnesty Bill advocate. They want existing laws enforced, and tougher laws put on the book, and enforced zealously.
Doing nothing is what the proponents of the bill /will/ do, to punish the American people for objecting to it. It's passive-agressive politics. |

Anything is better than giving those ILLEGALS a free pass! NO DAMN AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS, PERIOD! |

So do you want to know what legally, morally we should do, or what our cowardly congress is going to do?
Legally and morally we should deport them all over a five year period, replacing them with people who are applying legally to come to this country. There is no reason other than the lack of will in Congress why this can't be done.
Even more importantly though is that we have to seal the border first. The $4.4billion that was included in the failed bill to do just that still needs to be spent.
FIRST - secure our border
SECOND - add more manpower to border security, and rounding up the criminals who came into the country illegally
THIRD - accelerate the legal immigration program, forcing the criminals back to their own countries and to the end of the line for immigration status. I'd make them wait at least 5 years before they could even apply.
All of this is doable, is reasonable, enforces the rule of law, and protects America. Those are the reasons this congress - Democrats and Republicans - won't do it. |

Please read the 20 loop holes that were in the Bill and reply.
After doing my own research (and not listening to radio talk shows) I found this information and read it. It made me sick to think that a majority of the senate was going to pass this Bill. I encourage you to read it and let me know what you think. |

We didn't need this bill we just need to enforce our current laws. Rewarding illegal behavior is not the answer, Its also not economically sound. If the would of passed it would of cost the taxpayers an Est. 2.6 trillion dollars within ten years and that's not to mention it would all but wipe out an already troubled social security system.....that's unacceptable! |

Because the immigration bill was harmful to our citizens in order to grant what amounts to amnesty to non citizens. It increased visa's for high skilled jobs, low skilled jobs and everything in between. Any bill that was created by special interest groups and big business will more than likely not serve the interest of the average citizen.
It was very expensive and was noticeable lacking enforcement. The loopholes were clearly presented many times to the public as well as our legislators. Creating a bill that harms our people in order to help non citizens is just silly. No one liked this bill, the majority (on both sides) seen it for what it was, something that would do more harm than good. |

We are now starting to demand having all our laws enforced, the laws that have always been there but were ignored. By the time we are done with senators and congress the laws will be enforced.
When it becomes impossible to get jobs and services, people will leave on their own. Combine that with those who are deported for crime, simple arrests, and other ways, some illegal immigration will drop. Also starting to secure the border even more with patrol agents will help prevent new illegal immigrants....all this will happen over time, not in a few months.
The real deportation magnet is enforcing the laws, which is going to happen real soon. |

The House is currently working on legislation to secure the border, grant NO AMNESTY measures, beef up ICE, increase penalties for employers, cut off federal funds to sanctuary cities.
The time is NOW, to continue to speak up and demand protection of US sovereignty and end the abuse of our social infrastructure by illegal aliens. |

Just because we didn,t want that idiotic bill, doesn't mean that we don't want to resolve the problem, you sound like the the senate fools who drafted the bill, they think the only answer is to through mud at the wall and hope some it sticks. We will solve the problem but it will be done in a more intelligent manner, maybe the start should be to enforce the laws that we already have, especially punishing employers, and stop giving the illegals immigrants government benefits. |

Actually that is what they want to tell you. But enforcing laws we have in place is not nothing. BUt you have to urge your senators / congressman to start writing legislation that makes sure this happens. Atleast we know that they are going to get deported. I have been reporting on them all day. Where they live / work etc to the INS. And they got arrested right down the street from me. So yea it is going to work and they will get deported. We need to end birthright and build that fence. Fine employers too. SO you are another brainless one I guess. |

because the lawyers in this country would have a field day with the government if it did what it has to do- send out teams to round up illegals and take them directly to the border and sent back,no trial no jail straight back. Then it needs to build a wall with razorwire and a no-mans land that is heavily mined and armed with remote gun towers. But I guess that would be percived as "inhumane" |

The man that heads home land security said he will now start building the fence along the border and putting more border patrol on the border, it's about time, why did the defeat of the bill cause him to do this now why didn't he do it along time ago, he had the money, so it is not business as usual, next we can start deporting illegals by the thousands, they did it in the fifties they can do it now. |

No, it's is better that the bill was defeated. That doesn't mean that the status quo will continue. We made ourselves heard and will continue to pressure Washington. We want our laws enforced and a fence built. And I don't agree that deportations are not going to happen. They are happening all the time and we are going to insist it continue, and increase. |

You are right! Nothing is going to happen, we have to be real. ICE will not deport 15 million ppl . we cant be naive to believe its possible. The bill is not dead and it will be back in the floor in 5 years or 6. I think it made things worse by putting it "dead". In 6 years we will have an extra 5 million illegals, borders were never secured either in mexico or canada because of the elections. Now we are back in square one. |
