Why is it so difficult for many people all over the world to enter and immigrate to the United States?

it is very simple. USA authorities are afraid of all citizens but Americans. they do not have risk taking capacity. they only believe in 'play safe'.

I tried to immigrate to Canada a few years ago and was turned down for some very dumb reasons. I think Canada is harder than the USA is.

It is not that difficult if they follow the guidelines for citizenship. I had friends from Ethiopia who became citizens. It is a lengthy process but to them it was well worth it. It is so long because the United States wants to be sure they are solid citizens and pose no harm to anyone. My friends understood the rationale and proudly became US citizens a year ago. They felt the five year period was not that outrageous and went quickly.

There are many countries that are harder to get into than the US.

The reason the US is on the radar is because so many people STILL want to be here.

Because it's a long costly process, and they only allow so many immigrants in per year, and that's the reason some decide to immigrate illegally, and because their families are starving in their country.

Was there for 6 months and just came home a few weeks ago, worked for Disney. I have saved Â£20,000 for a movie, I'm only 23, I have a Bachelor of Art in Cinema, while being there I have a social security card, I have a place to live over there, and I can get a job when I go back Disney said I had to get the proper paper and work authorizations... so if its that easy, how would someone like me go about doing it?

It really isn't, all you have to do is try the legal channels. There has been since the 1960's some restriction for European immigrants in favor of those from Asia, Latin America, or Africa. If you really want to live in America and be an American, it is still quite easy and worth the effort.

Because if asked about 90% of the world would like to live in the United States. We just don't have homes, jobs, and everything needed for practically the whole world to move here.

it is not difficult, but with over 30 million illegals invading here we cannot take as many legal immigrants as we would like. illegals are hurting legal immigration to the states.
