Not all British people love animals and not all British hate multiculturism..... thats like saying all Americans are fat... dam, wrong example but you can see where im going.

If you ever come to England, but i hope you dont.... you will find that The British are getting fed up with illigal immigrants that are coming in and getting all the free healthcare etc which would piss any country off.

I don't know about you brits, but here in the states multiculturalism is seen by many as an Idea. It is seen as being forced on us, whether we like it or not.

It is an unnaturaly forced ideaology on college campuses across the country. And the problem with it is that it is a one way street in all regards. Every one has a "student union" group of their own...which is fine. However, even speaking out with your opinion about the illegal immigration issue from Mexico casts a racist light on you.

The ideas of multiculturalism, tolerance, and diversity in the US are one way streets right now. And, until they are two-say streets I, and most white Americans will continue to resist.

Here in the states, if you are a white, straight, male, you can expect everyone in this counrty to get SOME special attention but you.

So, In my humble opinion, multiculturalism is a failed politicaly correct ideaology. Political Correctness is simply socialism begining it's forced complacency!

Not all british people love animals/pets. I think it is wrong to assume that all British people detest multiculturalism. It is human nature to be afraid of change, maybe this is part of the reason?

I don't detest multiculturalism. What I detest is people moving to other countries and expecting to carry on in total ignorance of the new culture (and very often language) they should be embracing. A recent survey of young Muslims said that they would much rather live under sharia law than British. Unfortunately they live in Britain! I find this beyond belief. I think that this country is P.C. mad and it has gone to extremes, most people I know have experienced "Reverse Racism" and are rapidly losing patience with recent immigrants to our area. I'm sorry, but if you don't want to be British and integrate into our culture (which lets face it, Britain is used to.), go somewhere else.

Multiculturalism is by definition divisive. I'm in the US and there is a big difference between a melting pot, where you celebrate your heritage, and 'multiculturalism'.

Who said that British people detest multiculturalism? That seems a bit strong. Most of the British people I've met love the idea of integration. Some people take issue with illegal immigrants but that is a separate argument.

We do not detest multiculturalism, we detest having it forced upon us, we detest being made to feel like second class citizens in our own land, we detest being told we are racist by those who cry "racist" as a method of getting their own way, we detest being made fools of by our so called representatives in government and we detest having to pay for those who contribute nothing to our society. An individual chooses to maintain a pet, it consumes minimal resources and if troublesome may be lawfully killed.
Sadly asylum seekers (for example) are not chosen, do consume resources and may not be killed with impunity.
I can see no similarity.

because the majority of immigrants have come from dustbin like countries and are responsible for turning our once great country into a shytehole.

It is no wonder the British have lost any pride in their country and are seeking to move away.

We Brits do not detest Multi-Culturalism, we detest the abuse of our hospitality after welcoming other cultures into our country. My dog does not bite the hand that feeds him, and my cat does not invite all his furry friends round until the cats have taken over the place!!

If I moved to another country, I would expect to learn the language, and respect the culture and traditions. In other words I would expect to adapt to the new country, rather than the country having to adapt to me. I would not move to a Moslem country, send my child to school and then complain that they were not recieving a Christian Education, I would not move to an Arab country and walk around in a bikini and wonder why it caused offense, I would not move to Albania and wonder why I could not get a job, even though I could not speak the langauge.
Why are the Bristish expected to tolerate this type of behaviour from others?

We are fed up being told that we can't put up St George's cross , we can't celebrate Christian holidays, we must have forms and signs in 10 different languages for fear of offending people.
If you would like to come to England, Wales, Scotland or NI, learn English, get a job, embrace our culture and live as one of us, then you are very welcome. We don't expect you to forget your roots, but we expect you to embrace our ways as well as your own. We are pround of our Heritage and Culture and we are happy to share it, but we will not allow it to be buried and squashed.

i'm irish and its really starting to get on my ****, i live in the north of ireland and 10 years ago nobody would have pissed in the place never mind buy up all the available houses and land. foreign workers are being used by being paid minimum wage and then being crammed 10 to a flat for over the odds rent. i have no problem with foreign workers its the foreign investors and property developers i want put back on the boat. i am never going to be able to buy my own house because of these parasites. they can take their money and **** off back home.

and a culture is a group of people who live together a particular way - hence why multiculturalism is a stupid word - however this does not mean that people of different races and faiths can not get along - this happens all day long in britain and its fine until divs like you start talking rubbish like this

The British people feel they are being exploited by the immigrants, as well as the rest of Europe (EU law says asylum must be claimed in the first EU country the seeker reaches, so how can so many asylum seekers come from Calais.)

I would say that's quite a generalisation - that "British people detest multiculturalism"!! I certainly don't detest it; I embrace it. It'd be a very boring society indeed if we were all the same and worshipped or adhered to the same things!! I think you should check things out before making rash statements.

There is no such thing as multiculturism and it`s never going to work, that`s why there are so many `one nationality areas` now in the UK. It`s down to the herding instinct and the desire to be amongst your own kind.

i dont think multiculturism is the problem it is the fact that people from other countries come here they dont like our queen, our religion, our way of life, our rules and in a minority of cases having to work. dont come here and diss our way of life.... it would not be tolerated if brits went to their homeland and did it. it is a case of respecting everybodys way of life and learning about each other. and not being racist but if they dont like it dont come here...

People should question things for themselves instead of listening to stereotypes, I agree there's a breakdown happening across the board but I don't believe its down to race or that pets get that fair a time in the U.K. a nation of animal lovers? I question that every day, its what the government is doing to all of us that is causing the rift.

I wouldnÂ´t generalise by saying all British people love pets or detest multiculturalism. I met people in the Midlands who were proud of their "multicultural" neighbourhood. However, I was shocked to find many anti-American, anti-EU English people on my International Relations course. Why on Earth were they studying IR if they couldnÂ´t tolerate foreigners? Again, these were only some British people. I met others who were very open-minded and willing to embrace multiculturalism. I didnÂ´t meet any who had pets, oddly enough.

Because the majority of people are those who have lived through the wars and lived with poeple who have lived through them, and are narrow minded. they might also be religious and believe that multiculturalism is not permitted in the bible.
