Because by law a company can not pay an American citizen less than minimum wage, no such laws for illegal workers... hence the word "illegal". Do not kid yourself, its about $$ and how much a company can save by using illegal labor but pass the burden to the taxpayer on all the government services that they use that cost BIG $$ and as a non citizen they are not entitled too, sweet deal for the companies right?

By the way the rest of us are doing jobs that take out approximately 25 - 30% or so of our pay for taxes to fund this whole fiasco.

The employers are not going to fire illegal aliens that they are paying less than minimum wage with no benefits to hire Americans that expect at least minimum wage (in accordance with the law) and benefits to support their family.

I think you have things backward. The employers who hire illegal aliens will NOT hire those who you refer to as "anti-illegals" because they aren't allowed by law to pay someone with a social security number less than minimum wage. You seem to have bought into the belief that illegals are "only doing the jobs Americans won't do". That position is one of ignorance and while the business owners who hire illegals are getting rich, the average American citizen is getting fleeced in the form of free healthcare and education for 12 million illegal aliens.

Perhaps you should actually understand the situation before you post ridiculous questions like this. Start with looking up the word "illegal" in the dictionary and go from there.

I don't think the anti-illegals want the job....just that we are a country of laws and when our government does not enforce the law on 20 million people....then gives me a ticket for speeding that is wrong. I is just about the government turning its back on the illegals getting away with a free ride in this country while we pay for them. Unlike Mexico (lawless) America had a history of enforcing laws. Once we stop believing in laws we become no better than Mexico. I would pay another $3 a meal to have a machine clean my dishes, table, or toilet.

Hey, dude, what happens when ICE makes a raid on a company? The illegals are rounded up and CITIZENS apply for the jobs they should have had all along.

I won't apply for any of the jobs because I am trained for other things. The illegal aliens don't prepare tax returns, do financial planning or mediation. Why should I apply for a meat packing job? Other citizens do apply!

However, that's not the only issue! Why should taxpayers be supporting them? Why should our taxes pay for education, health care and prisons? Why should they get benefits without paying for them? Don't claim they pay taxes because the only minimal taxes they pay are sales tax and property tax through their rent.

If the pay was descent, that's a good idea.. However you fail to understand that illegals have jobs becuase they are being underpaid and under the table.

It is difficult to convince an employer to hire you when you need more money to pay your house payment, car payment, insurance payments, utility bills, etc., than the Mexicans do to live twenty to an apartment and mail their money home.

Americans have to pay for their health care. They cannot just walk into a hospital and get free help. They have to pay taxes, all kinds of taxes. They have to feed their families.

When Illegals take the jobs at half-salary, how does that help the American worker? Perhaps the Mexican immigrants should wise up. They are being exploited. They are being used.

They are working long hours, menial jobs, and being paid peanuts, while the profits go into the pockets of the employers.

Why don't Mexicans go home and straighten out their own country? Why don't they change their corrupt government? Why don't they battle to build a good country like Americans did?

Instead, Americans have worked long and hard to build up a land where the Middle Class were more prosperous than in any other country. Should they sit quietly while an invasion of Mexicans sneak into the country and ruin things?

I feel sorry for any people who are desperately poor. But causing Americans to also be poor is no help to them or to the illegal immigrants.

I just came back from a job in Wy where the tradesman added up to 240 people, there were
83 illegals on the job openly admitting being illegal. I talked to the guys that spoke English and they were paid less and were hired through temp agency in Arizona. I ask if they were afraid of being busted, they said no.

OK SO all of you ARE MAD BECAUSE OF THE INMIGRANTS COMING TO THIS COUNTRY AND SUPPOSTLY STEELING JOBS AND GOVERNMENT BENEFITS? KEEP ON MIND NOT EVERYONE DOES THAT. I am a social worker and haved met immigrants families that actually paid their taxes with their ITIN # and they don't receive any funds for it, believe me I haved worked on more US citizens cases that steel more money from its own country by not reporting their husband or wife's income so why do you blame others when we perfectly know that their are not the only bad persons in this story?
