Nobody has a problem with LEGAL immigration......it's ILLEGAL immigration that causes uproar (quite rightly).

Whether the immigrant is from Mexico, France, Gambia, Saudi Arabia, Britain, or anywhere else is totally irrelevant.....it's HOW that immigrant came to be in the US that is important.
The immigration procedures I went through were tough, but they were also FAIR. They are there to ensure that criminals, health risks, and other potentially problematic characters are not able to gain easy access to the US. Illegals bypass those checks, and in my opinion that makes them a potential threat.

Most people opposed to illegal immigration are not opposed to legal immigration from Mexico or any where else. It so happens tha the majority of illegal immigrants are from Mexico so those bear the biggest brundt of the discussion of the issue. I oppose illegal immigration from every country and don't care what color or race the illegal immigrants are - I just want them out of our nation.

Nobody is specifically angry about Mexicans coming to America ILLEGALLY. I would have you note Mexicans and South Americans have the majority of slots in the LEGAL immigration line. So please don't pull the whining abused Latino act. Some of us view the 500,000+ people that cross our border ILLEGALLY every year an invasion. Invasion is a racist word to many illegals. But let me give you a reality check. 500,000 people is 3x as many soldiers as we have in Iraq right now. We are angry because we unlike Mexico realize that the natives of Mexico have no claim on the US. Spain colonized this land first not Mexico. Mexico had little interest in colonizing this land after the Spanish left. Until the US came there were only strings of SPANISH missionaries. Your Indian ancestors have no claim on this land because this was the land of the Navajo and other smaller tribes. The Mayans, Incas, Aztecs, were only located in Mexico and south America. Also the Indian population that was here were immigrants themselves. There are no people that are 100% native to this land. People have only existed here for a few thousand years. There was no mass migration of people from Mexico until the last couple decades. You are drawn here by jobs that US companies have created not Mexican companies. All you have to do is look at the pitiful state of the worker at Mexican companies and business to see that we are far better at producing good paying fair workplaces for our Citizens. And thats what we as US citizens fight to protect. Face it without the jobs none of you would be here. But we want you to come in a legal fashion. Not sneaking over a fence like a coward. Also let me note that in 1986 only 2 decades ago Amnesty was given to all people including Mexicans who lived here illegally. So any people that came here illegally afterwards have no right to complain. These people are invaders pure and simple.

P.S You might be surprised to know but Mexico is a trillion dollar class economy just like the US. The supposed next richest man in the world is a Mexican. Perhaps the Mexican people should fix their own obvious problems in Mexico with the disparity between rich and poor rather then try to blame a country that has as much right to border control and protecting jobs as Mexico, send your blame and criticism where it belongs. Mexico. I also resent your latest comment that we make out US to be great. I like most citizens believe the US is a great place as most illegal immigrants from Mexico for whatever odd reason seem to think Mexico is great.

I have no problem with anyone from any country coming here, as long as you are legal. The problem I have is with the people who think they have a right to come here, but don't want to do it legally. If Mexicans want to come here, they should do it legally. I have nothing against Mexicans, but I don't want you here if you are not willing to follow our laws and do it legally. That goes for the immigrants from any other country, too. If you are legal, you can come. If you are not, go home!

I don't think anyone would have a problem with people coming here the right way. Where I live there are too many Mexicans who refuse to learn our English and now we have English/Spanish signs going up in our grocery stores. If I move to Mexico - I will learn Spanish and conform. Most Mexicans who come here don't seem to want to.

Also, these illegals are being paid under the table forcing good, hard working companies to shut down due to not being able to compete with those who have illegals working for minimal dollars. They cannot bid for jobs and are run out of business. That is not fair.

If I came to Mexico and did what 12 million have done, I would not be seeing the light of day for a long time. They say in 50 years everything is going to look like LA. That doesn't sound too good to me!

Do what the Illegals do:
1. Pick a country, ANY COUNTRY THAT DOES NOT SPEAK ENGLISH.

2. Sneak across their border without their government's knowledge and minus a passport, cash or ID of any kind.

3. Find an employer that will hire you for a low wage since you have no education or job training skills to offer.

4. Demand they speak ENGLISH.
5. Demand they give you FREE food, LOW income housing and health care for FREE indefinitely oh, and while they're at it, let that country's citizens educate your children for free.

6. Break more of their laws by buying a car and driving it without insurance.

After that, tell this country you don't wish to become a Citizen but wish that their government supports you for as long as you want. NEVER assimilate, NEVER speak their language, and ONLY Respect their customs and laws if it means you get more freebies while you "Work Hard" to get YOUR Piece of the Pie that you feel THEY OWE YOU.

When that's said and done, send all your extra cash back HOME to USA, by the billions every year.

Because the vast majority of immigrants from other nations come here legally. And when they get here, they try their damnest to assimilate, learn the language, and contribute to society. They do not demand special treatment. Like dual language everything. Or sending vast amounts of money out of the country. Or big "protest" marches in the streets. Tell me, how did so many get the day off from work? And what do they have to be angry about? Not enough freebies from the government? Want the mexican anthem played at ball games? People with visa's stay on the bus and go through customs at the border. The Mexicans who are out in the desert crossing the border on foot are doing so be cause they don't have a visa but think they can sneak in and get away with it. And if there is not a good fence and guards at the border, they will learn that a visa is not really neccessary.

Thirldly, Americans don't hate Mexicans because they are mexicans, but because Mexico happens to be much more econolically disadvantaged country compaterd to the US + it shares a land border with the US which makes it's people to migrate much more easily than those from let's say Cuba, jamica, Africa etc.

Forthly, America has become what it is today because of it's Laws and Law abiding citizens. Majority of people respect the laws and live their live by it.

There is a law that also explains immigration. Mexican immigrants that enter the US illigally are breaking that law, $h&tting on the laws that had made this country what it is today.

Why should "illegal aliens" have the same opportunities as people who were born here and pay taxes. I'm sorry but have you read statistics, watched the news or read the newspapers, Mexicans are the majority of illegal immigrants coming to America. Iraqians can come to America sure if they do it legally. In America it doesn't matter if your from Britain, France, Germany, or Canada if you come here illegally you are faced with the same problems as Mexicans who come here illegally. People have to become "legal" to come and live in America because than they would pay taxes, which unbelieveably or not, pay for schools, healthcare and prisons. What they did to become illegal is they broke the law. They did not follow the laws and procedures to become a proper American citizen, if they did they would be an immigrant to the United States who has the same oppurtunities as the rest of the American citizens. Once your a legal citizen in America you can join any gang you want and terrorize anything you choose, but your still going to go to prison and instead of getting deported you will just be put in jail and if it is on a visa your butt will be deported. I don't mean to be unsympathetic but I can personally care less if a guy gets shot in Mexico because of the lower standard of living. He isn't in my country and therefore not my problem. We have our own issues to worry about. Mexico has its government maybe they should be worrying about the "maybe" deaths of its people not ours. If they are trying to save up for a visa it will be completely pointless because you have to be in your original country to apply for a visa or citizenship, so those people will just be wasting there time and instead of becoming legal they will just be deported and have a ten year ban from America. Well maybe you can do the U.S. a favor and start telling everyone in Mexico how bad America is.

There are annual quotas for how many people can come from different countries, and I guess Mexicans have surpassed their quota. BTW, I love Mexico and always had fun there, so nothing against your people, just answering the question.

Legal immigration is accepted from Mexico. It is the ILLEGAL part that is a problem. Many people come to America from Mexico to get away from the corrupt government and upper classes that keep the poor poor. When they come here and live illegally they create a underclass that in the USA. Many do not learn to speak English even after years of being here. "I personally know at least 4 Illegals that do not or even worse will not speak English"

Economically speaking Illegal Immigration has several bad side effects.
1- People using public facilities without contributing to the cost of those facilities.
2- Lost tax revenue on the cash transactions for the work done.
3- Much of the money made by illegals is sent out of this country to their loved ones. This means that our economy does not benefit from the money being spent here. This affects small businesses.
4- Crime. I know of a situation that a sister of a friend was in her bed with her 2 daughters. (by the way she was pregnant) outside her house there was a scuffle and a gun was fired. The bullet missed its intended target, but passed through the wall hitting her in the head and killing her and her unborn. Since the community was mostly Illegals no one would talk to the police or tell them who was involved. Today a murderer is walking the streets. The family is destroyed, the father another illegal has been determined that he cannot take care of his kids that are anchor babies and US citizens. The father wants to take them back to Mexico. Since they are US citizens the child welfare will not let him take them to Mexico. This is not good for the Illegal community or the legal community since this person will commit more crimes. Who knows how many other stories like this and worse go on every day in the illegal sub culture?
5- Uninsured motorists. I don't think I need to tell you what is wrong with this.
6- Security, we live in a world where some people would like to hurt us as badly as possible. We all know that there are smuggling operations at the borders that bring in drugs as well as Illegals. They take bribes right. why would someone be picky about this box or another who is already breaking the law. What would happen if a Nuclear or Biological attack happened in the US that was smuggled across the border? Would you like to stay in a city that was uninhabitable? How would we respond, and against whom?

Our Immigration system is screwed up and must be fixed. That is why the first step is to close and secure the border. Then give people a system with options for becoming a citizen that WORKS.

You're right. I don't see anyone else being referred to when they speak of illegals in this country other than Mexicans. It just shows the ignorance of people. People are terrified of diversity. It is forced upon us in corporate America. Most people grew up around the same color people all their lives and now they see their neighbors are different colors then them. People do not want to be cultured and tend to look down on others if they are not from here even legally. Immigrants whether legal or illegal built this country as our ancestors are (unless your american indian). You get a star for an intelligent well though question.
