Why is it the "politically backwards" states are able to pay their bills, while the all so intelligent cali?

The so called "politically backwards" states are usually those that expect people to work for a living. The states that are seemingly "progressive" in their thinking have too many entitlement programs. Kinda makes you want to rethink your position as far as what state gets what defiinition.

California bases the brunt of its budget on State Income Taxes and not property taxes. California like most of the Country is experiencing growing unemployment. There is a flip side like the State of Florida that has no State income tax but incredibly high property taxes. When you loose your job in Florida, you still have to pay some of the highest property taxes in the nation. Well, until you can't pay them any longer and than it's just another foreclosure bringing down the prices in the hood.

Texas has millions of illegal aliens and a budget surplus. California was brought down by its years of liberalism and Democratic legislature. They've given too much (more then they can afford) to their massive government payroll and can't grow the economy due to high taxes. Even movies are made in Canada. Want to see the results of Obama's policies? Look at California.

I cant complain too much about Schwartzenager, but I live in Los Angeles and this state is the most liberal place ive been in the nation, my wife is from san francisco and I hate the people from there, they are the reason california is so messed up they are all a bunch of hippies who want to live in communes. The feds need to take away some of the electoral vote from this place. I love living here geographicly and as far as entertainment is concerned but our politics are rediculouse.
