I believe we are all 'hypocritical' when you look at it in that light. Just because a person points out when another person is commiting a crime, does not mean that person is perfect.

Your question evades the definition of hypocrite.

You assert that "if you've ever done anything illegal, but tell somebody else what they do is illegal, you are a hypocrite." It is not hypocracy to point out ones crime if you've commited one previously.

Our society sets the definition of certain behaviours as crimes. The person committing a crime, if caught, would be subject to a form of predetermined punishment.

The only time our system would verge on hypocracy is if we allow one crime to go unpunished, but punish other crimes. Our nation would be full of hypocrites if we allow illegal immigrants amnesty, yet continue to punish other crimes.

I think in general people feel that if they, or someone else, break the law and are caught, they should pay the price. Being here illegally isn't a one time thing. It is not a problem because of the dirt they scuff passing the border. The problem is the daily drain on funds needed for services like education for those here legally. People who say they are here illegally are saying they should pay the price on the books for the crime they committed.

You obviously only want answers that agree with you. It happens that I don't.

And yes, I have seen some children be affected. My own.
