Most of the crops in the United states are harvested by Americans. The stoop labor crops are in part, but some harvested by illegal aliens because the Americans charged so much. At some point, the people trying to organize the farm workers put a lot of pressure on the Government to end that Bracero Program. I would add, the growers have been part of the enemies to the immigration law for a long time, and they were the enemies of labor organization then also. The Growers have a very great deal of money. |
