Do you mean fewer job options or fewer jobs in their life time? The question is unclear. But I think what you mean is why is it harder for immigrants to get jobs than US citizens. If you think about it, immigrants have a lot going against them considering they have not been exposed to American culture and the American way of life. Language would also pose as a barrier. Just think if you were the boss of a company or owner of a business and you had an American citizen and an immigrant applying for the same position. The immigrant is still learning English so he cannot interact with other employees or even the customers. This would a lot tougher for them.
