Instead of building a fence, just make it so costly to be discovered hiring an illegal that its not worth it.
First offense, $25,000 per person you hired, second offense theres some jail time for the person who hired them and a lost business license.
No jobs for the illegals and they go home, simple huh? |

No, a border fence alone will not solve the immigration problem. Nor would a "gestapo" (your word, not mine) border patrol stop it. Both of those things together would most certainly help curtail the problem.
The best and cheapest way to solve the problem is not to hire them, school them, or otherwise provide anything, other than emergency medical treatment, for them. Do that, along with a secure borders and the problem is solved. |

Maybe anyone who thinks that is okay for aliens to enter the US illegally should try entering another country illegally and see what happens. Start with Mexico!
By the way, illegal means breaking the law. You break the law you pay the consequences. Let's say you go rob a bank for money because your family is starving. Should you be let off the hook? Would a jury let you off? Or would you serve time for your crime? It is the same thing. |

Our patrol officers are American not WW11 German Gestapo. Yes a "full-border" fence will solve 70% of the problem of "illegals" & put a dent in all the illegal drugs flowing into the USA. The other 30% should be for those "here illegaly" to be sent to their home country. |

No fence is really needed. Real ID will be fully in effect by 2010. Social security matching is part of it. That with the patroit act will move this all along.
No services, employment and all of that will take care of it all. A fence would be nice though as I have actually known some illegals who go home for a visit and then return to the US. |

It is part of the solution. The other parts are putting a stop to the employment of illegal immigrants and empowing local and state authorities to enforce immigration vilations when they find illegal immigrants. And, reforming immigration laws to make legal immgration simpler and easier and increase the quotas to more realistic levels so that legal immigration is a more atractive option than risking the dangers of crossing the border illegally. It is a carrot and stick solution. |

a fence is another waste of our taxes we need a huge militarily enforced wall, but our american govt is unable "because of too much beaurocrasy to do anything right. The mexicans are not the biggest problem, our borders are being crossed by people from terrorist nations all the time. Another idea is to start charging mexico for all the costs associated with their people and the legal system, welfare system ect.
