Depends on the size of the yard.
In our town we average 6-8 houses per block.
My 12 year old son is only allowed to charge $8.00 per yard, with weed-eating; then I have to approve it before he can charge my neighbors.
He gets pretty good tips most of the time, but he is not allowed to accept tips from the retired people, so they give him snacks and such.
That is an American work ethic and if you want your children to grow up to be decent Americans you need to teach them that.
And it shows your neighbors that illegals are not needed.
Parents need to take their kids credit cards away and make them see what the real world is like. |

Did you look for one? Did you put a sign in your yard that said need someone to cut this yard: 10$?. If you live in a highly affluent neighborhood you might have a hard time since some American children with rich families have credit cards of their own and wouldn't cut your lawn for 500$. But where I live my neighbors son used to cut our lawn for 5$ an hour. He's American by the way. |

Thats the problem, people like you hire illegals for less. You take advantage of them, and screw over America in the process. My best advice to you is to mow your own lawn, stop acting like you are doing some one a favor, to mask the fact you are breaking the law, and taking advantage of some one. |

My 14 yr old son would love to! This used to be a great summer job for boys and girls under legal working age to earn a few xtra bucks. When I did it I got paif $2 for a regular sized lot and $5 for a double lot. This was back in 1977, so $10 sounds about right for now due to inflation! |

Americans will shovel **** for 10 bucks if it buys something. Most Americans know that there is honor in working no matter what you do and are more than willing to do it. Less than 5% of these so called "hard working mexican Joses " are working at menial labor paying minimum wages |

No and neither will any other nationality. I however am lucky I have an American do my yard work and I pay him nothing. Just a little nooky every now and again. |

I'll do it. I cut my own lawn anyway so I don't mind doing it, so long as I'm using a driving lawn mower. (I'd also charge you depending how big your lawn is) $10.00 is rather cheap. |

No. I can make more money from living room working on a project for my university that requires me just to move my labtop to the living room and correct some mistakes in a document for hours on end.
Your not offering me enough considering I would have to go to the location (lets say its across town for arguments sake), fit your project into my schedule, drive home, and get a shower afterward.
Sit in my air conditioned house and make more money editing a document or go cut grass across town for less: Its pretty clear what I am going to do. |

You probably have two or three teenagers right in your neighborhood who would do it if it weren't illegal for them to operate your lawn mower, assuming you have one. I only have about 600 square feet of lawn and have a kid who will mow it with my weedeater. I think that is still legal. Takes about 20 minutes. so that would be $25.00 to $30.00 per hour. just not many hours. It is more than jose would get for a full days work in Mexico. |

Cut your own grass LAZY!! The only person who Ive paid to cut mine is my nephew, and he refused to take the money! (Hes an American) He offered to cut it. My yard is about an acre. So much for we need illegals to do it! |
