My dear Charlotte, do you know your history? Instead of wasting your time asking stupid questions on this site, perhaps you should open a history book about how England invaded and ruled India (taking many of its riches and abusing its people) and then before leaving divided it into 3 countries (one of which was Pakistan). They ruined many countries around the world and now English people winge when some residents of the Great British Empire come to England. |

Virtually everything that happens is because `they` want it to happen.
Think how easy it would be for any country to seal it`s borders if it wanted too, especially an island nation.
It is allowed to happen because industry wants it, it keeps wages low and stops working conditions from improving. Thus, the rich get richer and the poor, at best, stay as they are. That is the way of the world.
You have to admire any man or woman that is prepared to travel thousands of miles to better themselves and provide for their families |

Considering our entire immigrant population makes up less then 10% of the demographic, and its been static at that level for years now, your way off friend.
The thign is, their isn;t 'too many immigrants', its just certain parts of the country, like the inbred twits who claim the countryside, refuse to let them live nearby. Hence, we have certain areas with large concentrations, and vast swathes without any.

Actually, just too add, i live in the Black Country, so we have a large immigrant population. It is funny however how we think the ramblings of a Taxi Driver are worth mroe then the Office of National Statistics or the Census... |

I heard that by 2060 there will be more non-white than white people in Britain as the white population have less and less kids and the non-white population continue to have a few each. However this is a global world and it shouldn't matter so much anymore, look at the Costa del Sol or rural France, full of Brits but we don't ask if we're 'colonizing' them. |

What a very narrow-minded day we're having today on Yahoo! Answers. Not just in terms of questions, but in terms of actual answers. What's wrong, did petrol prices go up?
It would be nice if people could differentiate between English and white on this question. Most of the non-white people we see every day are probably as English as I am (born and raised) though their parents might not be (I'm unfortunately half-Welsh, half-Irish), whereas in my experience the white people are all Eastern European or Australasian immigrants. Just because we might one day live in an all white society in the UK wouldn't necessarily still make it English!
And I'm not complaining about immigrants either. If not for immigration over the decades, we'd have less nurses, less bus and tube drivers, and no one to serve us in the pub! Immigrants, in many ways, help the economy and make England what it is today - a multicultural melting pot. |

no i dont belive that will happen anyway i think there is a 12% immigration at the moment in the uk and i belive the minority of them stay in the same area and by the year 2020 the estimate is 17% most of these will be eastern euro..i agree the goverment have kind of lost the way with immigration but its not as bad as the media make it out to be..infact there is more brit's immigrated to other countrys than other people moving here it work's in round a bout's |

White British people form over 92.1% of the population of this country. The entire non white population comprises a tiny 7.9% of the poulation of Britain (See census results below).
It would take 300 (or even 3000) years for all whites to stop being racist enough to mix with other races and stop their white panic, and then they wouldnt be pakistani. |

Probably wont even take 30 years. I have no problem with people coming over, if they work, and pay taxes, and learn English. What I can not stand, is people who come over, claim benefits, never pay taxes, get free houses and handouts... it makes me SICK, I'm English, and have NEVER EVER claimed a penny off the government, and have always paid taxes. Why should I pay just to keep imigrants alive?? |

The only people who might deny the story are those guilty of allowing this to go on. The government too shares a lot of blame for this.
In the hands of experts the current passport is easy to forge.
Stick a different photo, that's all.
Children's faces change so much as they grow up, it's difficult for the immigration officers to judge.
It is time we had a foolproof ID system based on biometrics.
We have to stay one step ahead of the forgers.
I say this as an immigrant, having enjoyed peace for nearly 40 years.
